It was a straight up murder by a trigger happy cop who was told they are immune to any prosecution by the president of the united states.

ICE is going to start murdering thousands of us and none of them will be held accountable. It’s terrifying that ICE is a bunch of proud boys and fascists with a thirst for blood. We are all in trouble and all of us risk dying just going out to the store if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As someone who lives in Canada, same here. I’ve been in the past (IE. Pre-Trump) and it was lovely but I probably won’t go again. In our household we don’t even buy American products or shop in American stores anymore if we can possibly help it.

I know a lot of people who do the same too. I don’t think the US has quite grasped yet how much it has pissed Canada off, and how long the road is going to be to start fixing that up, if they even want to try. Certainly at the moment they seem to be set on making it worse and worse each day.

Time to turn our attention from not engaging with anything American to actively preparing to fight and disrupt America. Wherever you are.

Do not buy American products. Do not buy domestically produced products where an American company gets money (Coca Cola for example). If you can’t afford alternatives, do without.

Heller said she heard ICE agents telling the driver, a woman, to “get out of here.”“She was trying to turn around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, and he pulled out a gun and put it right in — like, his midriff was on her bumper — and he reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times,” Heller said.

Heller said it appeared the woman accelerated, and traveled about 100 feet before striking a utility pole and some other vehicles, and could be seen slumped over inside her car.

In the US, it was Trump, in Germany it’s the AfD. It is interesting to me that it’s almost exclusively Nazis that betray their own contries because they love their ssugar daddy Putin so much.

am a passificst, so the regularity and casualness of people telling me I should nut up and kill a politician is very disturbing to me on many levels.

I don’t think pacifists should be arming up and shooting anyone. I think people who cling to their guns and talk about fighting for freedom need to nut up or shut up (and I’m fine with the latter, just shut up already).

I dont think further violence has ever really fixed this problem and I dont believe that’s going to magically change now.

I think this is naive. Violence is an incredibly effective tool at degrading organizational capacity, destroying institutional memory, and quelling public opposition.

When you’re dealing with ICE agents who can cavalierly execute civilians in public, I would love all three of those things to befall them, because I don’t want an organization with the capacity, the knowledge, and the public platform to execute my neighbors.

But insurgent violence comes with enormous personal risks, it requires professional training, and it rarely produces tangible results in a single lifetime (especially the lifetime of a militant insurgent). So I’m certainly not going to ask people to stick their necks out.

I just get tired of people posting TikToks in Camo Cosplay, pretending they’re part of some Last Line of Defense Against Tyranny. You’re bad liars. No serious person takes the 2nd amendment seriously as a political deterrent.

What I meant by that was that every time this sort of threat has been resolved by violence, it only sets the stage for future violence, because the true problem lies in the systems we use this violence to uphold.

The systems are the people. And when you kick out a lynchpin - be it MLK or Charlie Kirk - that system can fail.

The gun nuts do need to stfu about their hollow ideals though. I’d say we are in complete agreement on that note. If they were to actually ‘walk the walk’ however…I dread what that may usher in tbqh.

We’ve got people being rammed in their cars and shot gangland style through the windows.

Tbc, I dont know the most appropriate solution either

I general strike would be a good first step. It would be very painful and risky given how many folks live paycheck to paycheck and how we have almost no social safety net, but it’s safer and more realistic than everyone trying to go full Rambo or Red Dawn.

Remember at the start of COVID when we didn’t know how it spread and people were disinfecting their groceries and the feds and the bosses wanted everyone to keep working? It was only when the flight attendants threatened to strike and shut down air travel that they finally relented.

Capitalist systems are so existentially and catastrophically broken that in order to find a middle ground you have to turn off the rational part of your brain. Centrists cannot handle the implications of this so they consciously or subconsciously thought terminate back to “I support the republicans and democrats equally”.

      Centrist here.

      1. Fuck off with your anti-centrist bigotry and caricatured centrist views.

      2. It is a both sides thing, because your fucking pussies of a Democrat party are showing what wealth hoarding, vote chasing cowards they are, by keeping their heads down and mounting zero opposition to your government being seized by a populist dictator. They are clearly not a viable alternative to this atrocity. We need to replace the whole two party, capitalism-corrupted system, not just ensure that your supposed “good guy party” wins the next election.

      3. Being a centrist doesn’t make me a milquetoast appeaser. It means I reject the dichotomy that the only alternative to this populism is more capital-first liberal greed.

      4. Your view of centrists, casting them all as people who can’t decide between the two obvious alternatives, rather than people who reject both, is the one thing that both the left and the right agree on. It’s propaganda to keep one of the two extractive elites in power and prevent us from ever even discussing actual alternatives.

      5. Same thing, for math lovers: if you take a 1D slice through a n-dimensional normal distribution of views, the more perpendicular a dimension is to yours, the less correlated they are, the more those views will tend to map to the center of the dimension you’re insisting on, despite being actually just as distinct. It’s your insistence on this 1D view that creates centrists, and your dismissal of them is propaganda to prevent real change.

Protests can be peaceful and armed, FWIW. That’s what started the Black Panthers. People realized that unarmed peaceful protests got violently broken up… But heavily armed peaceful protests had cops politely watching from across the street.

Cops were more than happy to fire into crowds when everyone was unarmed. But the cost/benefit ratio suddenly changed when the entire crowd could return fire. A cop may be able to hit three or four protestors, and in an unarmed protest, the rest would quickly scatter and disperse. But when everyone was armed, the rest of the crowd could immediately return fire instead.

It’s also what started modern gun control laws. When lawmakers saw a bunch of heavily armed black people on their front porch, and saw cops unwilling to break it up, they got really fucking sweaty. So Ronald Reagan (yes, the same Reagan that conservatives put on a pedestal) and the NRA (yes, the same NRA that lobbies for looser gun control after school shootings) co-sponsored the Mullford Act, which was the most restrictive gun control bill the country had ever seen. It was literally the start of modern gun control laws.

This is what drove the Black Panthers underground, as the lawmakers and police worked to criminalize and track them, so they could kick down doors during dinner time, instead of busting up the peaceful protests directly. And we still see that tactic being used today, with police setting up cell phone trackers and facial recognition cameras at protests, and raiding suspected attendees’ homes days or weeks after the protest.

This wasn’t just the Panthers, there were plenty of armed volunteers during the Civil Rights movement. I highly recommend “This Nonviolent Stuff Will Get You Killed”.

The ICE shitbags are the neo-SS or NKVD, take your pick. Someday, Renee’s children will understand the tragedy and how the US politicians and business leaders failed the USA. Mango Fucknut Mussolini’s response is simply disgusting.

Time to get back out there and fight back against their bot accounts and MAGA zealots from reframing this stuff yet again. If you deleted your social media accounts then it’s time to get them back and actually put content out to refute bullshit. Call out the leftists telling you to disengage or “Don’t wrestle with pigs”. Fuck the pigs up. It’s a numbers game and the more content shared the more opinions will change over time.

If you’re all willing to drive multiple states to go stand in the streets to protest once a year, but you can’t be bothered to stop the spread of disinformation and their media from getting to the eyes and ears of the general public then it’s a bit like you’re trying to rebuild a fence after it collapsed rather than just going out there to put some new posts in before it fell.

If you think that only the democrats can solve this. Then don’t bother replying. I don’t think you’re worth any effort or time. If you’re response is something about ‘democrats aren’t doing anything’ don’t bother. You’re weak and nobody should listen to you ever.

So go out there. Stop hiding. Make your views public again.
