Musk caused a lot of problems mainly while he was being self serving. He fired a lot of FAA leadership and mass laid off air traffic controllers. He wanted to steal a contract from Verizon for SpaceX. Aircraft incidents increased almost immediately. DOGE also led cuts at NOAA which NWS relies on. There was a surprise tornado in the midwest a couple of months ago and flash flood in Texas. These events claimed lives. I blame Musk. Musk is at least partially responsible for Trump gaining power whether he hacked vote tabulations or not.

There could not be a worse bad actor to be involved in our politics. I like the idea of a centrist party but want Musk to not be involved at all.

Wonder how many losers who didn’t vote or voted 3rd party will split the vote for Elon, ensuring continued Republican destruction.

Yes, because Musk is the first person that comes to mind whenever “actually cares about the people” is mentioned. 🤮

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!” Musk said Monday.

“Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said.

This shit is hilarious. So he didn’t like the bill because it didn’t make enough cuts? Or is it that it provided too much money for ICE? Either way, he will have plenty of new party members. Stupid people eat this shit up.

He’s just trying to apease the frustrated to get a voter base… But the real plan here is to dilute the democratic voter base even further cementing the republicants to stay in power.

If those party comes in 2nd, he’ll just conceed and give his votes to the Republican candidate.

If they win, then hell just cozy up to Republicans anyway.

Remember RFK Jr when he ran as independent.

      This is THE PLAN

i dont think hes drawing any dem supporters, rfk jr AND jill russian stein mostly drew republican voters, or people that “are undecided” i was following rfk jrs voter campaigns and he mostly got the people that usually dont vote, or the undecided and some republicans.

Aren’t most US elections FPTP? If so, during the election he’ll split the right vote which boosts Democratic/other candidate’s chances. If they get a few senators elected with Democrats getting fewer than a majority, then for sure the plan would work as you described it.

Honestly this is a great and perfectly realistic outcome. Of course, assuming ICE doesn’t just seize all the voting machines for the next election and Trump wins by 104% (which I think is a lot to ask at this point).

If, somehow, we have free and fair elections coming up, then a splintered right from the bullshit Musk and Joe Rogan put together or whatever, and a splintered left because their constituents want them to stop making it legal to hunt Palestinians for sport, makes it perfectly sensible that the dinosaurs who run our government could declare that some form of post-19th-century voting system that would enable a little bit fairer outcome than FPTP is what’s needed. And, when the dinosaurs want something to happen, it usually actually happens, without all this molasses speed when it is merely because of people dying or whatever the problem the regular people are having is.

Ranked choice still encourages strategic voting. Let’s say you have Bernie running as third party and he’s your favorite candidate in a ranked voting election.

If you vote for him as #1 and enough people do this, he can potentially eliminate the Democrat candidate. Then when the Democrat votes are transferred to the remaining candidates, there might be enough people who don’t like Bernie and transfer their votes to a Republican to make for the Republican winning.

If you rate the Democrat #1 and Bernie #2 then the Democrat candidate might win outright. So voting for your favorite candidate might hurt your second choice

      Elon Musk can’t start shit.

The only successes Musk has are when he buys out a leadership position, like Tesla (sued in court to become an official founder).

Andrew Yang is the one to keep an eye out here. Musk has the money but I’m expecting Yang to do the heavy lifting.

Small correction - he started SpaceX, and that company is wildly successful. That’s mostly due to the incredible leadership of Gwynne Shotwell; but Musk did actually start that company.

That shouldn’t detract from your point, though, because AFAIK that’s the only successful company that he personally started

I’m not on YangGang and I never liked that guy.

But it’s clear that this new party is Elon Money + Andrew Yang right now. This is somewhat worrying as Yang was a Democrat (albeit one that couldn’t win any primary and never reached critical mass, but a Democrat nonetheless). So there’s political power here that we need to consider as part of the equation

It gives Elon political cover and makes him look independent and looking like he’s splitting the Democrats. So we can’t fall for it but people out there will fall for it.

Lots of politicians ran under the democrat banner and then switched. What’s that one dude who wore the hoodie and had the stroke and then turned out to be fucking insane? My guess is the stroke wasn’t what made him a republican.

Anyone who possesses the kind of money that they possess, even Yang, are only in it for themselves and their cronies. They all, metaphorically laugh at us in the back room and Yang and Elon just came up with this fun plan to be the next person to dance in front of the crowd.

I think that is why they are afraid of AOC. She didn’t come from money. Sure she’s been able to make some cash speaking and stuff like that but she’s never gonna have hundreds of millions dollars. I would argue that she probably doesn’t want that kind of money anyway.

I hate this timeline. Living across the Pacific, I actually know about Fetterman.

An Australian shouldn’t know the names of so many American politicians. But it’s hard when y’all are trying to out-crazy each other every second day.

I couldn’t even name our current speaker of the house, yet I can identify Mike Johnson whenever his mug shows up in the news. This is truly the dumbest timeline.

His staffers were literally crying and large numbers of reports are that he is a changed man after the stroke. Its uncommon, but it happens. Brain damage can result in personality shifts.

He’s some Pennsylvania Politician, I forget his name but maybe a Senator.

Anyone who possesses the kind of money that they possess, even Yang, are only in it for themselves and their cronies.

Well yes. But that’s traditional American Politics and its been like that for a long time. People prefer the devil they know (money / greed) rather than other vices.

If anything, being openly greedy makes people more comfortable with the personality.
