I was sent to a military academy as a teen because I was getting into a lot of trouble. The “troubled teen” industry is exactly as bad as reporting over the last handful of years suggests. Violence was common. I don’t know of sexual abuse, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I wish I’d sued the school once I turned 18 before the statute of limitations expired. Not for money but to shut it down so other kids wouldn’t suffer.

The best part is how my mother always said I had to be exaggerating because I wanted to get out. It couldn’t possibly be that bad, she’d say.

I had some marital conflict with my wife because she wanted to send a kid of ours to one of those hellholes. Two years later, the kid was fine, though still infrequently unruly. Six years later, he’s top of his class in college and doing great. Those businesses trade on parental despair and are run by religious fanatics and sociopaths (though I repeat myself). I’m glad you didn’t suffer even more harm.

Yes. To protect the Juvenile Justice Department from the “woke mob” who wants to see people, especially juveniles, treated and rehabilitated.

You must understand that providing these kids basic human rights and giving them a chance to change for the better will only leave less slaves for the ultra rich, and we cannot have that!

The Texas juvenile system has been a goddamn horror show for decades. It never gets fixed. Politicians don’t want to come out on soft on crime. Local communities don’t want to risk closing potential economic benefits like detention centers. More importantly most people are inherently evil and find pleasure at the idea of people being tormented.

Traumatized people are compliant. Traumatized with a rap sheet will work 3 minimum wage jobs while sleeping rough.

The writers of the report will probably, absolutely coincidentally of course, be found to have violated some law which requires their punishment to the fullest extent of the law.
