The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has said it has released all of the files required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act, but lawmakers have argued the release is insufficient.
The letter sent to members of the US Congress on Saturday from Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche said all documents in the possession of the DoJ had been released and provided a list of names contained in the files.
Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie, who co-wrote the law, called for the DoJ to also release internal memos outlining past decisions on whether to charge Epstein and his associates.
Millions of new files relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were released by the DoJ earlier this month.
It’s actually six million files in total.
From Rep. Raskin’s opening statement at Thursday’s hearing, directed toward Pam Bondi:
You’re running a massive Epstein cover-up right out of the Justice Department. You’ve been ordered by a subpoena and by Congress to turn over six million documents, photographs and videos in the Epstein files but you’ve turned over only three million. You say you’re not turning over the other 3 million because they’re somehow duplicative. But we know that there are actual memos of victim statements in there. And you also took down the Department of Justice’s prosecution memo from 2019. So it’s clearly not all duplicative. But even if it were, why not release it, just release all the duplicative stuff.
In the half you did produce, you redacted the names of abusers, enablers, accomplices and co-conspirators, apparently to spare them embarrassment and disgrace, which is the exact opposite of what the law ordered you to do.
Even worse, you shockingly failed to redact many of the victims’ names, which is what you were ordered to do by Congress. Some of the victims had come forward publicly, but many had not. Many had kept their torment private, even from family and friends. But you published their names, their identities, their images on thousands of pages for the world to see. So you ignored the law.
And even with over 100,000 employees at your disposal, you acted with some mixture of staggering incompetence, cold indifference, and jaded cruelty towards more than 1,000 victims raped, abused and trafficked. This performance screams cover-up.
EDITED TO ADD: The source of Rep. Raskin’s assertion of six million files is apparently Todd Blanche’s letter of January 30th on behalf of DoJ saying that no more files would be released (page 1, third paragraph).

Hillary had the lock on the nomination, that for some reason saw only a token challenge, and they lost to the biggest asshole, even as Russia was interfering and Obama didn’t say anything because it would look political. After Obama continued the plutocratic rot in every way, the only real reform being the ACA his first year. After that, just slower rot than with the Republicans. Assassinating american citizens without trial overseas, using drones on people in sovereign countries, using the cia to impersonate vaccination workers to get osama, continuing to torture people in guantanamo. Continuing to bail out the rich in 2009, rather than homeowners, not using it as an opportunity to start a wpa type organization or otherwise use borrowed money to stimulate the economy to actually build infrastructure that would save money in the long run and not just hand it to banks, whom are the enemy of working people.
I wouldn’t know where to start continuing to list the ways Obama failed the country. We needed a new deal, people wanted reform, and instead we got the status quo, with a radicalized republican party planning on fixing elections, backed by russian intellgence, and we know now, and Obama had to know then, compromised also by Israel. Making a deal to allow an unwinnable candidate back in 2008 to get the nomination after him is a good place to start though. When she dropped out they made that deal, it was her turn in 2016. We needed a leader to spearhead popular reform, and not providing it allowed the republicans to run as reform, and win. Biden obviously failed harder, Obama was at least popular.
Enough allowing the establishment to remain in power, we are doomed to fall under the boot following their lead in case you didn’t realize that yet, and anyone telling you otherwise has been wrong about everything. Those ivy league suits aren’t on your side, preventing popular reform is their reason for being, not stopping republicans, despite the latter planning on fixing elections and pursuing their opponents with the justice department in manufactured allegations.

Uhhhhhhh …I’m not sure I actually want to watch those videos. Think about it. Yes the video would show donald trump naked and having sex with a 9 year old, BUT it also means that if you watched it, you would see donald trump having sex with a 9 year old.
I don’t want to see that, and I can recount an endless amount of scandals and horrific behaviors that have been proven that trump engaged in. I cannot recall once trump having actually faced consequences for his actions.
So even if you were presented with the evidence tape…is it even worth it to watch?
