News@lemmy.world•FBI Raid on WaPo Reporter’s Home Was Based on Sham Pretext
4·21 hours agoI saw a comment about the initial report ‘administrations do this all the time for sensitive information… etc’. Except this is one administration who uses flimsy excuses for everything, so I figured I’d take note if this headline came, just for personal knowledge and all that it may be correct. I mostly assumed but they’re so clumsy it’d come out. Within a couple days that’s enough to flood their zone with more bs. I sort of wonder what exactly they don’t care discussed, besides anything at all of their actions they have divine right of course in their minds.
Bit late of a reply but you’ll probably lose any ideals your country stood for before you lose your job at that rate. At one point the US stood up to bullies now they let the most thin skinned douche make all the decisions. Congrats.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Memory crisis expected to last until 2031, supply already allocated for 2026English
2·4 days agoOkay I’m old is this a actually newer meme or was it a joke to post the reply?
It does sound familiar (like close to a movie line) but also sounds accurate. If the bubble pops so much memory available cheaper.
Mean I’m only 1 year into my PC build but I tend to do them every 4 years or so…crap that’s only 5 years from now I thought it was longer, but still lot closer than I thought from first read. Least at this age time goes by quickly, for better or worse heh.

Technology@lemmy.world•Windows users keep losing files to OneDrive, and many don't know whyEnglish
1·4 days agoSounds like a reasonable idea for the issue presented. Mean the issue could be on one drive saying the file is there and complete, or many other issues since I don’t know the API in the least.
Yours would be my first guess for sure, it thinks it completed so delete local copy, which is what you’d prefer in that situation, well mostly, I sort of prefer a local working copy but need some other names and the program to recognize thm with then upload on actual save to the cloud storage…I say that and still curse at excel when it says it has a backup copy from a forced reboot, always keep one open heh.
Actually to be fair I hate those storages for that reason so much crap can go wrong without a knowledgeable user it makes things worse. You just hope the program can tell if it did it was done correctly heh and if not then end up clicking the wrong button and it’s all gone.
Local NAS for anything you think you’ll need, random ‘free’ cloud storage as a general backup. Mean I assume the NAS has raid so mostly good without more.

News@lemmy.world•DHS Officer Seen on Video Kicking Memorial Candle for Renee Nicole Good, Woman Killed by ICE: 'Don't Give a F---'
27·8 days agoI’m sure the federal agency in charge will make the public know that the officer’s actions are against the agency’s…hahahaha.
Not as much oh that’s a funny joke more like laughing is all you can do in horrible situations sometimes. Absolutely awful overall to even have this situation come around.
Any sane western government administration would make an example out of him, course they’d have started with the murderer…with a paid suspension…guess sane ones have work to do too.

News@lemmy.world•Elon Musk Shares and Endorses Shocking X Post That Says ‘White Solidarity Is the Only Way to Survive’
2·8 days agoI was more thinking of the Futurama Fry meme, I’m shocked, well not that shocked.
That’s the only relevant reply to this comment but why waste space so added the rest. Plus Futurama rocks so always enjoy a reminder of it.
I don’t think the initial shock would happen when talking about a Nazi billionaire oh sorry Elon Musk the billionaire who apparently helped Trump during an election compared to a regular person sure but not Mr Musk, we know his colours and has a whole social media to let us know repeatedly. Then Mr Musk was rewarded with being able to fire people investigating him (think technically through doge).Huh now that seems odd and dripping with corruption.
Yeah the shocking has gone down to the amount a 6 year old rubs their feet lots on carpet to give you a shock. (Was fun as a kid heh)
One has to wonder about his pedophile connection since calling that diver one. That’s an odd insult to throw out like sure jerk, bitch, asshole, dick but pedo? Maybe more digging needed to see why it’s so upfront on his insults.
So US citizens glad to continue working and be productive for this 'leader"? Letting someone who lies like we breath be the mouthpiece (well anus for the amount of shit it spews) of your country.
I hope for the best of most US citizens but I do hope they take some determination for their country.
You weren’t always the best but you were better than what you’ve all let your country become. No one is ever best in all ways, but this is the same as Russia, Nazi Germany etc.
It is the country of US citizens afterall, without action it’s only to be believed that the populace accept it.

Cheap computer (I’m Canadian so let’s say these are maple bucks) say $500, what’s a rental $30 a month, so 16ish months before it’s paid off.
I ran a media PC off a $300 computer for years (I can’t recall exactly least 2 maybe 3). If you need more you probably don’t need a cloud one, if you get a cloud one it’s cheaper to buy a cheap computer every 2 years.
It may make a sense to some but I enjoy having my nas backup and separate media PC. Also if Amazon goes down you can’t even access the calculator, least with no Internet there are options at home.
