I remember watching a video like this but it was on Reddit and it was top post. It was also happening in Moscow, not the USA.

“The country of freedom” accuses the other country of their censorship in media, but then it starts doing the same things.

    Freedom my ass I say

USA is cooked, man. It’s no longer a free country. Party of no censorship and free speech, yeah right.

Meh. This was the local police. They wanted the group off the road, and the group wouldn’t move. I don’t really have a problem with this. These protests that block traffic and stuff hurt the wrong people. The guy or girl driving wherever shouldn’t be the target. Try disrupting actual commerce or production if you want to get the attention of the people in power.

Economies utilize roads. Average Joe driving to work is engaging in commerce and/or production.

They stopped her there (obstruction of the road, the given reason). They were the reason her voice was heard in that second and not later, and lead to the arrest (the real reason).

A little sus that the reporter and camera operator weren’t arrested for “blocking a road” even though they were standing in the same place.

Thankfully it seems like no one said this yet, so just inb4:

She was not stupid, nor useless or played into their hand. Be inspired and take example. Being arrested for a little bit is not that big of a price to pay for resisting tyranny.

More importantly, without blindly believing it will automatically come true, at least put the scenario where you win into your heads. Going to prison for what’s right can actually be liberating, if you think about it. And people can be taken out of prison too, together with all those that were imprisoned for getting or giving an abortion, those that immigrated “illegally” but spent decades contributing to the US’s society and economy, those that only had a bunch of weed on them, etc. Maybe even the whole “for-profit prison” concept may finally come to an end. Imagine that!

If this had happened in Venezuela in last couple of days the media would be loosing it’s shit. The image of that arrest would be immortalized and treated like the Saigon pistol execution.

Immediately following the attack, bombing and kidnapping of Maduro, journalists were rounded up around the country.

Our media isn’t making a stink about it because they are complicit in the manufacturing of a narrative here and you can’t have people in Venezuela contradicting that narrative.

Fuck every US tech company while you’re at it

Once this is over, and one day it will, we can’t forget this, we can’t forget what IS tech companies did under trump

Which, I’m sure, means that people will forget in about 5 minutes and then they return to the cool US napy tech

Hmmm, I wonder who gives the tech company low-interest loans and much more? This tech bubble would not be possible without the support of international banking. Too big to fail, and so on.

Don’t stop at tech or the USA, that won’t accomplish anything. International banking cartel will buy the drop at bargain prices, AND give loans for the rebuild. I wonder who controls USA money? Oh, the FED. I wonder who these guys in the FED are? Oh look, those same banks.

They are not even hiding it

No need to wait, we can start right now.

One thing we can all do is switch from Microsoft Office (if you or someone you know is using that) to Libreoffice. Especially important that everyone cancels their Office 365 subscriptions. I singled this out because this is likely the way most people are directly funding big tech. Office 365 funds OpenAI which donated $25 million to Trump.

Also of course cancel your Copilot and ChatGPT subscriptions too.

In addition Reddit users should switch to Lemmy or Piefed.

Same with Russia, at odds geopolitically - in constant proxy wars across the world.

And yet… President Krasnov has repeatedly praised president Putin, given him favourable deals (abandoning the Kurds, pausing sanctions around Ukraine, removing sanctions imposed post-Crimea annexation, holding off on using very powerful financial sanctions available to directly squeeze Russia’s plutocrats and Putin).

Not sure your theory that a country being at odds geopolitically means shit when Trump is president and the Republicans in the house and senate largely enable/encourage him.

I know it may seem like it, but the entire US is not completely at the whims of Trump. His orders require all sorts of buy-in. He needs to keep generals, police commissioners, mayors, senators, judges etc. at least somewhat aligned with him, at least enough not to actively push back against him.

I know it seems painful and difficult to believe, but the ruling class (billionaires, oil tycoons, aerospace companies, etc.) in the United States are firmly in favor of the US invasion of Venezuela. Trump would not be allowed to remain in power if he acted against the interests of the ruling class.

The United States is not a democracy. It has a year-round circus in the forms of elections, and keeps bread affordable enough, for now.

You can’t trust anyone. Be extra careful about what you tell people as in this wretched police state you can never be sure if you could suddenly be arrested anything that you say.
