Sounds about right, there’s a huge community of homeless people right off the side of Disraeli hwy going into downtown, where there used to only be a tent or two there’s now about 30-40 people.
They seem to be getting along and sharing resources though from what I’ve seen, which I’m glad about.
Hines said volunteers were trained to hit the streets with pre-determined questions. But some additional data they wanted was not made available by Manitoba Justice and Child and Family Services.
I’d be interested to know what info they weren’t allowed to collect was.

Growing cities have growing populations. This isn’t news. This is just how things work.
A city with a million people and 1% homeless has a larger homeless population than a city with 200k people and 2% homelessness.
I think the doubling within two years is the main point that should come across.
Unless the city also doubled in population, the percentage of homeless people have increased.
