Sure, some people think games cost too much these days. But what if you think they don't cost enough?

The donations are tied to GOG’s Preservation Program, which aims to keep old games running on new hardware even when they’re no longer supported by their original developers

They backed out of supporting the Stop Killing Games initiative led by Ross Scott so I rather doubt it’s to support preservation at this point.
