It was all fun and banter but I’m starting to get a little bit sad for our American friends, looking at my 8.99€ monthly 186GB 5G (4G after that) phone bill, and my 29.99€ monthly 2.5Gb home connection (10Gb is +10€ but do I really need that? I’ll get it if my sharing network starts to get popular :-).

I’m not in the USA but layoffs happen all the time when the economy contracts, the thing is they always need an excuse, and I don’t know is AI is really eating up jobs (I sort of doubt it, at least for now) but man is it the best excuse ever.

Then you might have looked in the wrong place. There are only a handful things that make us age (like cells not dying correctly and becoming senescent, the hayflick limit, and some 4-5 other groups), they have startups working on them all, to varying degrees of course.

There are even the first ones out there, but it’s a bit like when mobile phones were invented, they were big, clunky, expensive and didn’t work well. Now you don’t even want a perfectly working cell phone because smartphones are getting cheap too. I’m hoping the trend will be similar, and that’s what smarter than me people work on.

Cjdns is more of a VPN or some sort of internet communication in itself, so not really a sharing protocol, more like a communication protocol. You could maybe build a sharing protocol on top of it but that has ofc to be done.
