Aliexpress. I bought from a UK website first time and it was double the price but still shipped from China, making it a bit pointless. Yeah it’s great, my daughter has been enjoying all the old games as well so i bought her one too for her birthday. It’s much easier as a parent to give her the R36s and the retro games because they are all self contained offline things unlike a lot of modern games.

Some things I’d say to consider before buying:

• Factor in the cost of a good quality SD card (or two, one for the system and one for ROMs) to replace the one that comes with it. There are loads of warnings in forums etc about the cards that are supplied, but even so I was shocked when the card that came with mine broke after 2 days. Get a decent card like Samsung Evo Plus 128GB.
• It’s easier to start fresh when you get a new card than it would be to clone the one that comes with the device. Get the OS from here: https://github.com/AeolusUX/ArkOS-R3XS/releases
• For ROMs, search archive.org for “tiny best set go”

I’ve been playing Crash Bandicoot on an R36s recently, it’ such a nostalgic game. Amazing that you can play it on a ~£35 handheld! You can’t beat the gameplay in some of the old classics.

Yep, I got an absolute novel length comment from some far left .ml person as one of my first interactions on Lemmy.

Just in case it’s not obvious, they mean an English muffin, a kind of flat bread roll. In the UK that’s what they sell for breakfast at McDonald’s (sausage and egg, bacon and egg etc).

Agree with this, I have both Element and Fluffychat on android.

Fluffychat is nicer than Element in some ways, but it has some quirks around sharing files - I can’t get it to share multiple files from a gallery, and sometimes if it hasn’t been open recently the share action starts it up but nothing actually gets shared, and you have to repeat the action. It also tends to glitch if rotated to landscape and back again.

I keep Element on the device but disabled so I don’t have both running, but enable it any time I need to do something that fluffychat can’t manage.

They are both being actively developed so things are constantly improving.

I’m pretty sure Ukraine doesn’t have enough ATACMS to completely change the situation. I’m confident they will find clever ways to make Russia hurt with them though, they always use the weapons they are given to good effect.
