I need a proper analysis from someone that’s played this. Is it worth it? When it first released I heard mixed reviews ranging from it being a complete waste of time to others worshipping it.
Do you like weird shit and enjoy playing games where not much happens for long stretches of time?
If you like both of those things, or like one a lot and don’t mind the other, you’ll at least find this game interesting. There’s a lot of optional stuff so if you like it a lot there’s a lot to do, and if you just want to play through the main story you can get away with not doing many side missions.
FWIW I loved it, and I usually shy away from horrory stuff. But things in this world are so weird and I really like weird shit.
Thanks for the type up! I’m def down for weird shit and love horror so many have to finally pick this up.
It greatly depends on what kind of games you like playing. I’ve personally greatly enjoyed both the 1st and 2nd game.
If you enjoy a good, long, story with strange and novel elements, the game is for you.
If you enjoy a peaceful game you can play for hours traversing increasingly difficult terrain, with the help of creative use equipment and other players’ previous efforts, the game is also for you.
Game mechanics are refined, facial animations are emotional, and the game maintains a sense of novelty throughout the game, imho.
If you’re easily bored (desiring action), or can easily find things to become repetitive or tedious, the game is probably not for you, as there is a lot of walking in the game.
Other players previous efforts? Meaning looking up solutions online or meaning there’s some sort of persistent world where you can see what other players have done?
Other players who have walked the same path will affect your world positively, but only after walking it alone first (and connected the region to the network).
