Liberals will be looking to secure their majority while deeply unpopular PP is still at the helm of the Conservatives and while NDP is without a leader.
There’s always a risk of being punished for calling self-serving premature election. It doesn’t appear likely at the moment but who knows how people would react.

Exactly. An election now could bite Carney in the ass big time, leaving him with fewer MPs than he started with in the first place.
