Love the MAGA that are so vocally against Bad Bunny but somehow are pro Green Day, presumably because they’re white and don’t know how to read or apparently listen to lyrics.
Reminds me so much of the MAGAs years ago talking about Rage Against the Machine, completely missing the point.
You’d think the band adjusting the lyrics to explicitly reference Trump and Friends would be an indication of their intent. But that requires actually thinking about it.
Does the article say the right wing is okay with green day? I had a lot of conservative friends in highschool when American Idiot came out that stopped listening to them because of their politics.
I’ve never met a conservative that likes green day or RATM. They usually listen to the overly commercialized pop country music, and kid rock.
I’d heard that apparently, their media was claiming the same thing about democrats and country music singers. The media works on people of all polticial persuasions to sew discord to some degree i guess.
Could also be the fact that green day makes halfway decent music on occasion. Bad Bunny sounds exactly like everything that i hate about new pop. The vocals sound pitch corrected, together with the projection of “i don’t even wanna be here”-muted nasally fronted singing.
Everything that you hate

Makes halfway decent music on occasion
Subjective vs objective.
There is no agreed-upon good music, Bad Bunny is hugely famous, obviously a large number of people don’t hate his music or new pop. Green Day makes music that a lot of oldheads can still enjoy, in part because they’ve been making music for like 30 years.

Maybe I’m the faggot, America!
I’m not a part of your redneck agenda!
It’s even funnier because live they now sing “I’m not a part of your MAGA agenda!”
LMAO. Gonna be a funny Super Bowl.
And they dream of riding a zamboni, all over Saskatchewan!
Honestly who doesn’t?

No, it’s pretty objectively shit. But i cant blame him for being a product of his time.
Here you go, found the study that measured the content of western pop over the past 50 years: https://www.nature.com/articles/srep00521
It’s even worse now.
