What’s wild is I used to work local television news production. I saw how little the reporters and anchors got paid. It’s not like they are a completely out of touch class, almost all of them are facing the same kind of problems. That was nearly 20 years ago now, too. Things ain’t magically got better for a dead industry that keeps consolidating.
Did the story list every single American city, or was it a complete obfuscation of the facts on the ground?

If you track the average wealth of Americans it peaked around 1976 and went downhill from there
I think you might mean modal instead of median/average. The average keeps going up but it is skewed by the wealth at the top while the mode keeps dropping.
