  • Lots of good tips here. Thanks for all the details. I did join fallout76, but a little later I’ll try these tips searching for some other communities I’m interested in.

So far, I think I’ll stick with @leminal.space I like the name and I don’t need super smooth behavior. I’ll take it as an opportunity to learn more about how the gears turn.

  • I recommend all of these, but it’s not a real summary. I’ve hopped around to many different apps since stitcher died. I like Antenna pod, but I switched to Podverse for a little bit before coming back to Antenna Pod. Iirc, Podverse did the queues better, but only if they had properly added support for the specific podcast. I lik Audio fiction, which means I’m constantly looking for new shows. So I encountered a lot that weren’t fully supported yet, got frustrated and switched back to Antenna Pod. I’ve gotten into the habit now of adding a podcast to the queue season by season, and it works ok.

And bonus, if you like Audio fiction, follow https://www.theend.fyi/ to find recommendations. It’s great!

  • Lol, I had a website I must use to do some adult bullshit today, and it would not work with my normal browser security policies. So I used a completely blank browser with no privacy settings just to do this one thing. I opened up a basic chrome window and was greeted with a bunch of ads. The one at the top was apparently trying to make Husk more relatable to the pheasants.

  • I did read the article and the summary conclusion you presented is not the argument, nor what is at stake. Also, wild information ads are already demonstrably “OK too”.

    1. The ad in question is not false, but others around Florida certainly are.

I was pretty confused by this article because I don’t watch TV and haven’t seen the ad. I have seen billboard ads that say something like “Amendment 4 will allow abortion until birth.” Which is absolutely misinformation. According to the article, the ad that the surgeon general is trying to block has a woman who says that the current abortion ban would block her from life saving care. While the surgeon general is saying this is false, it unfortunately is true in practice even if not in the spirit of what is written. At the end of the day, doctors have to interpret a vague law to determine what care the patient will receive from them. Florida has not published information on maternal mortality rates since overturning roe, but Georgia has proven that the restrictive vague laws result in maternal deaths due to a lack of access to life saving abortions.

    1. it can’t be shut down because it is protected speech.

When you disagree with other’s political statements, you lawfully respond by making your own case – not silencing the other side. Public discourse.
