  • Guns aren’t inherently bad. Gun worship is bad. Gun ownership without proper safety and use is bad. Gun as a toy philosophy is bad. Gun’s being taught to children as a weapon to destroy those they hate is bad. Guns are a qeapon to be used fr defense, or a tool to hunt to eat. Guns aren’t a hotrod that gets modifications for fun, or a contest to see who can get the most. Teach children they can’t touch guns without supervision, keep them locked up. Practice with guns, read or get training on maintenance and safety. If you are a person who thinks about using a gun more than a few times a week or so you probably should question why you think that way. If you have anything but a sick feeling at the thought of killing someone with a gun you need therapy. Guns are a last resort, and they should be respected as the grim reapers they are.

  • Except most of the Founding Fathers were Deists. The churches of the time were mostly semi-Puritanical, and to an Evangelical, would be an absolute horror. A church that held so strictly to doctrine that they punished everyone for anything sinful, actually cared for the poor and sick (if only to bring them into the fold), and preached damnation and punishment in Hell. Stark contrast to the newer Prosperity Gospel (aka Grift), philandering, do what I want to whom I want and ask forgiveness at the end Evangelicals. The Founding Fathers were against religious control because they knew they wouldn’t be able to do much, or lose their power, as it would be seen as sinful. Now the Church has become so damn corrupt it now gives politicians a pass so long as it brings the Church more money. At this point I’m waiting on a holy war or two and a schism of power to eliminate the Church’s power again…

  • I replaced mine with a Sensi. 4 months with Nest, and it decided to confuse hot vs cold signals. Middle of August, it tried to “cool” my house at 3am, instead turning on the furnace, and just kept on going due to the temperature rising. For a week straight, I awoke to 90 degree temps in my house at 3:30 to 4am, and a nice heating bill. I had an hvac friend come over ad tell me in fact, yep, it’s sending signal to furnace, not ac. He checked the wiring, all good. He admitted he knew little of Nests, but said only an idiot would design a thermostat that could allow for a hot/cold signal switch without rewiring.

  • I went with the duo, haven’t gotten mine yet. Considering I’ve never given up on my Pebble 2 and Steel (with 1 day battery life) it’s an easy switch for me. I tried the new Pebble app, it sucks. I’m hoping the Rebble version will work with the Duo. I use waaaay too many third party software options to go without.
