Out species is too stupid to survive. 9 juries somehow got convinced that an oil company was out millions of dollars, LOL.

Fuck off. He is a senior Alzheimer patient.
I’m sure Ontario, Alberta, British Colombia … will all be happy to lose their provincial legislatures for one State House. No local representation. All provincial systems of trade destroyed.
This is idiotic talk.
Break everything, fix nothing.
Look at who they asked to return, such as air-traffic-controllers. Some fights they are losing.
Any important department will them to fuck off with the A.I., but Medicare patients will be stuck with it. It’s a slow moving disaster that any average person sees coming.
He dreams of cutting taxes for the rich, and paying for it with tariffs on Canada. It’s his only dream. He has no clue how to run an economy. He has been bankrupt several times.
The boundaries changed, plagues came through. But politically it was mostly stable-ish of sorts ¯_(ツ)_/¯ as an economic system
Other system are more stable, Egypt lasted for thousands of years, the Ottoman Empire was fairly stable without growth for a 1000. Capitalism is the the system were part of the profit is reinvested into new machinery ‘for efficiency’ to undercut competition. Once we do not have competition because there are only 2 or 3 companies (Coke and Pepsi), they fix prices and work to corrupt government to become an Oligarchy. This is why people make the state that we are entering a ‘post capital’ world.
Good. We need to depopulate by 50%. The earth can’t have 8 billion people. There are less than 30,000 polar bears in the whole world.
Too much of the economy is based around the auto industry, too many social and environmental issues are based around everything structured around cars.
i. Governments throw lots of money toward the car industry, tax cuts for the factories, subsidized wages for the workers.
ii. Owing a car is now becoming more expensive, and you need a new one every 15 years as they don’t last long.
iii.Car speeds and horse power have now crept up to crazy levels. Beyond any reason of what people need.
iv. Car companies are not focused on what people want, safety, instead they keep putting more horse power into cars.
v. Massive environmental costs in terms of pollution and sprawl.
vi. Oil companies are killing the planet and causing wars.
Almost everything when we talk of the ‘real’ economy, we mean car factories and oil wells.
Canada should nationalize the railroads.
Nationalize all mines, and mining.
We should build a nation car, a basic 4-cycliner car with AWD capabilities, plug-in-hybrd, regenerative braking, easy to repair with parts always available. Make all the software code and hardware schematics free. Have it as one of our military vehicles for basic transport, make it so that all cab companies have to use it, all Uber drivers, delivery drivers, that’s the only car municipalities get to buy for staff, only car Provinces get to buy for staff.
The other issue is, nobody is trying to take on Facebook. Not really anything in the FLOSS community like it.
All other western democracies use some sort of parliamentary system akin to what the English have, a party appointed Prime Minister with very limited power. Presidential systems always devolve into fiefdoms.
I don’t think data and studies should ever be buried. I do think we need to do a better job of exposing this data as nothing more than scattered tea leaves, with no validity to it. Just because someone spent lots of money collecting numbers, doesn’t mean those numbers reflect anything real. And yes billions of dollars and hours of time can be spent collecting ‘data’, but the cost doesn’t mean it’s reflective of any truth.
‘Data’ is not neutral! The point of collecting data on teachers and schools was always about control, pushing down pay, cutting benefits and cutting funding. That’s why these monitoring programs started, and continued to exist. A few naive people think that they might have some use in monitoring standards between schools, THEY DON’T. Pearson, Springer, and the other large education companies suck up much of the funding…not to the benefit of classrooms and students.
Don’t live in an political bubble. For years lefty teachers fought rankings, standardized testing, and the standardized testing industry. It doesn’t help schools, or teachers. Don’t be a knee-jerk reactionary, automatically saying that everything Musk does is wrong is counterproductive.
I don’t like Musk, but this is good. School performance tracking is voodoo math. Everyone knows that good schools are in good neighborhoods and bad schools are in bad neighborhoods. You don’t need $900,000,000 in research, and the yearly publication of random lists. This just hurts individual teachers.
I also suspect that because so much manufacturing is in China, what we think of as the world’s stock market is just a small fraction of anything. Does an index count if an index doesn’t measure much?
Trump is putting a tariff on Canada and Mexico to pay for his up coming tax cuts. He’s not smart enough to see that this won’t work and will cause a disaster.
Seriously when people say gold is worthless, what a joke. There is very little of it, as you mentioned it doesn’t oxidize, it’s the metal used in microchips. It ain’t sea shells or tulip bulbs or Bitcoin, that’s for sure.
