How do you even get a ring to cost $5M it sounds like a strategic nightmare? The most expensive gem that isn’t radioactive that being the red diamond is still only ~$1M a Gram the rock would be a literal rock at that point.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Ubisoft Employees Vote to Strike Against Proposed LayoffsEnglish
5·2 days agoOh wow 😲, you mean statements like:
“You need a little friction to create games”
“Microtransactions make the player experience more fun”
“Nothing is eternal” about support for older games
And wonderful decisions like:
always-online DRM
Removal of Access to Purchased Games
microtransactions in full-priced single-player games
Making the same game 500 times
Partnerships with Tencent.
Might have been bad ideas that lead to a lack of consumer trust and we have absolutely no reason to be forced into buying from a game company we don’t like since literally anyone can download a game engine and start making games for free? Are you saying Yves Guillemot has been wrong this entire time? That’s impossible next you’ll be telling me EA or Bethesda is just as doomed and indie games will be just fine so gamers will be all the better for it.

5·6 days agoI would hesitate to call the first 5T company a victim in any scenario.
If they crash burn and die right now the share holders still made exponentially more than decades of business as usual with no AI boom.
Edit: assuming they pull there stock before it crashes, but they have a lot of head room to pull before it ever gets to the pre ai boom.

News@lemmy.world•Former U.S. Navy sailor gets more than 16 years for selling secrets to China
41·16 days agoI was watching something the other day, apparently spies aren’t so direct they do things a common scammer would do, Like offer a reporting job and have them write papers for a supposed news article and they just happen to be national secrets they get paid a lot of a money so it is still selling secrets but not enough to be absolutely absurd. You wouldn’t want someone in prison for the rest of their lives for a bout of incompetent.
