I got it this year on Windows 10, I only realized it was ASUS because it also changed the RGB theme of my ROG Keyboard. Was annoying and confusing but I didn’t assume malware, just stupidity.

I just saw a video posted here about how Tyler Oliveria is a liar and his content is bogus, but when youtube kept pushing that garbage at me the over the top AI thumbnails were enough to tip off it was going to be shit, and I had blocked him months ago lol

I’ve been dealing with confirmed whooping cough for 2 months now, it’s the worst. When I got it, I saw a doctor, got tested and went on a week of antibiotics… thought it was over until I had to run for a bus and had no lung capacity. Even still, felt better until getting a common cold a month later and the whole thing returned and won’t go away. It’s not just the cough, it’s also splitting migraines and whole body pain emanating from the ribs from coughing so much and so violently, and a lack of sleep and all those symptoms too. Luckily it was just me who got the worst of it.

This past Friday, the schools just sent home a letter advising Scarlet Fever is rampant, never ends.

Imagine companies using YouTube videos to train their AI customer service reps. You call in, and for a while think you’re having a conversation with a person, but weirdly every minute and a half or so it’s just randomly peppered with that metal gear solid alert sound, the inevitable waowwww sound effect, Michael Scott and Dr. Evil soundboard clips, then when you start getting suspicious that it may not actually be a real human on the other line they randomly go on an ad read for hellofresh out of nowhere

Like Musk, a lot of those videos are straight up stolen too. He stole and verbatim reposted a video I uploaded on YouTube once. Was a big reason I deleted that channel, that any apparent sense of irony could just be stripped so easily. (No he did not give credit, not that it was OC, it was a clip from TV I captured myself).

The thing that bothers me the most about him is that the election is seemingly in the bag yet he still has to lean into the USA Republican culture wars. Buddy, going after Trans people and the like isn’t going to win you any votes you don’t already have, what is the PURPOSE for bringing up this nonsense. Just annoys and disgusts me to the core.

from my understanding all this does is kick the can down the road to May and Canada Post leadership is still fighting to prevent that 2 weeks of vacation

Amid the ongoing Canada Post strike, federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon announced Friday that he is asking the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to order workers back on the job if it agrees with his determination there is an “impasse” in negotiations.

If the CIRB agrees, MacKinnon says the labour relations board would order Canada Post and all employees represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers to resume operations and extend the terms of the existing collective agreements until May 2025.

When I took a job at a Federal Agency I had the choice of swearing to God or the Queen. I choose the Queen, most chose God, I haven’t seen that aspect in any of the reporting so I wonder if it’s the same, but if so, incredibly based.

I know a big part of his scam is constantly hyping up artificial scarcity, and that if you ever stop paying you get permabanned. So it’s possible a number of users might be just the same people but with glasses or fake mustaches, but it’s still an outrageous number of people. Sad.

Ironically? I noticed at some point in the last few weeks McDonalds switched from WB MultiVersus happy meal toys to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe…which came out in 2017 and somehow is still relevant enough to get happy meal toys

I had no idea lemmy.today was that sparsely used. I appreciate their hands-off approach and the reliability is pretty solid. Just wanted to say I like what they’re doing here.
