I remember that I switched to this from Trillian back in the day.
Born and raised in London. Just a normal guy with a moral compass.

It’s possible, there’s just not enough users to make it worth it right now
It sounds like they’re trying to demonstrate a need for a new law.

The European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is a new EU regulation that sets cybersecurity requirements for hardware and software products with digital elements. It aims to improve the security of these products throughout their entire lifecycle, from design and development to use and disposal.
The CRA is a response to the increasing number of cyberattacks targeting hardware and software products. It aims to address the following issues:
- Inadequate security levels: Many products with digital elements are not designed and manufactured with sufficient security measures, making them vulnerable to attack.
- Lack of transparency: Consumers and businesses often have difficulty understanding the security features of products and how to use them securely.
- Difficulty in complying with different national cybersecurity regulations: This can make it difficult for manufacturers to sell their products across the EU.
The CRA will require manufacturers to:
Design and develop secure products: This includes implementing security measures such as encryption, secure coding practices, and regular security updates.
Provide clear and understandable information about the security features of their products: This will help consumers and businesses make informed decisions about which products to purchase and use.
Report security incidents and vulnerabilities to the relevant authorities: This will help to improve the overall security of products and services.
The CRA is expected to have a significant impact on the cybersecurity of products with digital elements. It will help to protect consumers and businesses from cyberattacks and make it easier for manufacturers to sell their products across the EU.
You’re an absolute legend. Thank you. I checked Reddit, but with all the ads, I quickly got overwhelmed. But this looks a fantastic starting point. Truly, thank you so so much.
I hear you on that. I feel like the only thing I’m missing from my set-up is an IPTV subscription for live sport. With Usenet everyone is so forthcoming with information, so it’s easy to quickly get to grips with everything, but with IPTV, I’m struggling to find a thread to pick at to allow me to unravel some knowledge. Especially with all the services being shut down at the moment.
If you’re seeing loads of takedowns, maybe it’s time to look for a new provider, because from what I’m seeing everything is still healthy AF.
I understand your paranoia, but it’s impossible to answer a question if you don’t ask one.
Linux distros can’t be pirated. As for TV shows and films, Usenet > Torrent > WWW
Or so I’ve heard.
NASCompares did a good breakdown with a bunch of deals.
Hardly an alternative. JD is a http auto downloader, QB is a torrent downloader.
I didn’t say I wanted to lurk. I’m just saying I find beehaw’s Technology community more to my preference than LW’s
There’s plenty of communities where I have no interest in discussing things with the masses. I like smaller communities with thoughtful posters who care more about the subject matter than being heard. That’s the beauty of Lemmy. Not everything has to be perfect for everyone.
Man, you’re ungrateful as fuck. You asked for links, I took my time and provided them. If you don’t like AliExpress, then fine, you can find alternative retailers, but at least say thank you for the effort.
Sure thing

There’s a few cheap dongles about, but they’re £20 rather than £5
What’s so good about PieFed?
