“Now these thugs will learn no actual lesson and go out and do it again, potentially with a weapon, and their next victim may not survive like Big Balls did.”
Judging by this wet brained morons bloody photo (seriously, look at the size of his head, it’s full of water) don’t think they need a weapon. they handed him his ass. dude got beat up by kids.
and make no mistake these kids learned something alright, they learned that Nazi’s as surprisingly very easy to beat up.

The people. Americans. That’s what we’re waiting on.
the issue is unlike other nations in the world American law enforcement and the military will NOT hesitate to point a tank barrel in your face and pull the trigger. They are MORE than willing to fly the air force over some random town in Ohio and turn it into a parking lot. In places like France the people can riot for being told that Paper should not be thrown in the recycling bin anymore because French Authorities aren’t going to start a mass slaughter of their people, American authorities on the other hand have very little regard for their fellow man.
I was one of those Canadians wondering “why aren’t the people fighting back?” but now I get it. Chances are if the American people start fighting back a good massive chunk of them will be killed. So the question now is are the American people willing to literally DIE for their country? I don’t blame a single one of them if they answer “no.”
Because lets be honest here why throw your life away for a country that has already turned it’s back on you WELL before a Nazi wannabe dictator took office. Make no mistake Americans were STILL struggling under Democratic leadership. So I don’t blame them. They’re tired, they’re all barely surviving, their healthcare is tied directly to their employment (by design). Systems have been building and put in place for decades to ensure they DON’T rebel. Most Americans live paycheque to paycheque. The healthcare they do pay out the ass for is already pretty shitty. So fighting for ones country means you and your family no longer eat, no longer have a place to sleep, no longer have healthcare. again, this is by design.
If you’ve ever wondered how other Dictatorships in the world took power, this is how, this is EXACTLY how. Leverage already established systems, crank them a bit more, take and hold power.
The cards have been MASSIVELY stacked against the American people for a good long while now. Frankly, rebelling isn’t an option. Like Oliver they now have to hold their wooden bowls infront of Furor Trump and ask “Please sir, may I have another?”

I think whomever is modding here today deserves a beer or three.

I charge them more than I would if I was just developing for them from scratch. I USED to actually build things, but now I’m making more money doing code reviews and telling them where they fucked up with the AI and then myself and my now small team fix it.
AI and Vibe coders have made me great money to the point where I’ve now hired 2 other developers who were unemployed for a long time due to being laid off from companies leveraging AI slop.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for the bubble to burst (and it will VERY soon, if it hasn’t already) and I know that after it does I can retire and hope that the two people I’ve brought on will quickly find better employment.
use either Mullvad (yes, I know, the GUI sucks) or set up your own VPN.
the mullvad cli is very quick and easy. it’s a lot faster than what it was. OR set up your own wireguard VPN on your server, again very easy to set up.

Thanks, when I have the time I’ll look into implementing this.

No automatic browsing activity reporting - The extension only searches for Lemmy discussions when:

Answer: No - The extension does not report all browsing activity to third parties. It only queries your configured Lemmy instances with the current page URL to find relevant discussions, and only when you actually visit a page.
Regardless after some discussion last night I’ve added a consent notification when the extension is installed, it can now also be enabled/disabled via the sidebar so now people know exactly how the extension is being used: https://codeberg.org/rozodru/LemmyBridge/commit/2e735b56f273d44bae9df638b01985519debcfd1

…it doesn’t view the browser history at all.?

Fair enough. also to your earlier point it’s only 1 request per instance. the reason you might be seeing 5 is because 5 instances are the default.
Worst-Case Scenario (10 Heavy Users)
Lemmy Server Context:
A single person browsing Lemmy normally generates more API traffic than 10 extension users combined. The /api/v3/search endpoint is also one of the lightest operations, it doesn’t involve complex database queries like fetching full comment threads.

Totally understandable. I added in some rate limits, search result caching, timeout handling and error handling (to prevent retry storms), there’s also a max result limit per instance. If this WERE to take off with like 1000+ users I’d have to adjust it further. But right now as it stands the impact should be negligible.

It was easy to pull out of the browser as a standalone because really that’s all it was, just an extension that was baked into the browser. and since a lot of people requested it I just decided to do it.

the extension: https://codeberg.org/rozodru/LemmyBridge

Eventually yes, I will be turning it into a standalone extension.

“You’re Absolutely right!”

Liberals against striking workers? shocked…shocked I tells ya.

I’ve always said If I could have enough where I could purchase in cash a cottage in a small cottage town here in Canada with a top of the line internet connection and I’d never have to work or worry about money for the rest of my life I’d be happy. what would I do? nothing. I’d pursue my hobby projects, more FOSS development, gaming, painting, build model kits, drink beer, eat whatever I wanted, and socialize with as few people as possible.
That’s all i want. I just want enough money right now to achieve that.
They’ve already “flocked”. The site and userbase is a shell of its former self and it’s hey day is long passed. The users aged out or just went to places like kiwi farms, random discord channels, etc.
I mean you’re on Lemmy, a good chunk of old 4chan users are here, so you’re amongst them.
