I used to see people do this here and there but they got bored after a few months because nobody watched the content. If you could get a bot to do this, I could see this being a longer term project, but if it gets big enough some folks might object as well.

To bypass the forced Microsoft account you can create a unattend file and pre configure the ISO to make a local account.

I should have done this when I set up my computer, I had to manually change it after I set up Windows 11. I don’t have anything against logging into my Microsoft account but having the actual account on the computer be a Microsoft account instead of a local account feels wrong. What if my account gets hacked, I’d just lose access to my computer!

I like AP News a lil better than Reuters. Axios and NBC News ain’t bad either if you’re okay with using sites that skew a lil farther to the left.

I’ve got a MASSIVE fricking OPML file I grab my news from and punch into various apps and sites like Feedly. I grab basically as many feeds as I can, except those that typically paywall their sites (like WaPo, NYT and WSJ)

I’ve come across him before, I think he moderates a right wing Lemmy community I’m a member of.

It’s the first one I always see whenever I look up lists of Fediverse alternatives and I always end up on the site. I use fedidb.org but I don’t use it to find Fediverse software.

Because as the leading “Fediverse alternative” website, it essentially tells the viewer that Lemmy doesn’t exist, which I think does a disservice to prospective Fediverse users.

But yes good point, anyone can make an alternative website, I think right wing people made like a fuckgab.com site back in the day to recommend Gab alternatives on the Fediverse.
