Like others have mostly said, Mint is a great choice.

All the different distros can basically all do the same things for the most part. The main differences between them are mostly philosophical and don’t matter to a new user.

Once you get comfortable with linux, you can easily switch to a different distro if you get annoyed with something.

For now, just choose a popular distro that you think has a nice user interface.

I think mint, popos, and Ubuntu are all great choices.

Just get a vpn to be safe. They are so cheap. I live in a country where no one cares about it, but I still use a vpn to be safe.

Also consider that people might not care now, but in the future, the rules might change and there might be a record that you torrented.

I completely agree, I can’t even think of any games from this gen that were must play games that didn’t also come out on pc.

I think all gaming is heading towards pc at this point.

It’s a good use for me. I work with children and the things I’ve “created” have been significantly better thanks to mid-journey.

Before that it was just generic clip art, now I can make really beautifully themed stuff that was both out of my skill range and price range.

The artists, would never get money from me since I’m not rich enough to afford it but the children benefit.

I’m at the point where I am only interested in handheld gaming.

The only reason I’d buy a dedicated gpu these days is to run AI stuff locally.

I had to enroll users in teams. Doing so was confusing and 1 user would never get the invite. I ended up ditching it after about a month.

Each country is allowed a certain number of base violence stat points. Australia put all of theirs into nature.

Also want to add that you can add a non-steam .exe and install some windows applications too, not just games. After installing you just remove the installer from steam and point Steam towards the installed applications .exe

Just make sure to tell Steam to use proton to run it. By default, it does not turn that on.

It’s online corps offload computers but there will be a delay and many will just have the extended windows 10 supports. So I’d give it another year.

As someone starting a small business, it has helped tremendously. I use a lot of image generation.

If that didn’t exist, I’d either has to use crappy looking clip art or pay a designer which I literally can’t afford.

Now my projects actually look good. It makes my first projects look like a highschooler did them last minute.

There are many other uses, but I rely on it daily. My business can exist without it, but the quality of my product is significantly better and the cost to create it is much lower.

I tend to agree with you, I think the downfall started in the ps3 era since that’s when online was in every console. I understand your idea that it was bad in ps4 era since devs had the time to figure out how to makes things worse due to the ability to use the internet to sell things/deliver patches.

Maybe at this point they are holding off to make it a switch 2 launch title.

It’s kind of crazy how they have been looking for this for so long and nothing has turned up despite the games popularity.

Sadly, my old computer that possibly could have had this ended up in the garbage years and years ago.

That’s so crazy, the US did all this dark stuff and no one knows or really cares.

I don’t blame people for not caring as there is so much, “US is the shining beacon of freedom and justice in the world” propaganda.

But it’s just crazy how these things happen and a few years later the world acts like it didn’t.
