…I kinda like it right now. Some communities of less than a 1000 have much more human responses. It nice. And not just from one server.

I do have to say, the way https://www.royalroad.com/home does it is awesome.

1. The only ads you get is from other authors. Which is sometimes hilarious.
2. They work with authors with a lot of tools around editing, statistics, etc…
3. Lots of authors will review your work for free.
4. They have their own publishing platform. I heard it’s pretty good. But you have the option to go with whomever.

While it would be awesome if they supported fedi for comments, they do have RSS so it’s not like you can’t get updates that way.

It feels very beta. Hopefully they improved upon it.

As a software developer this sounds a lot like zapier. And it’s a very hard problem to solve. If someone wants to do it sure but every time an API changes…whoo boy. Not fun.

But man the best part is the resources it consumes. Let me remind you that Lemmy puts a load of 12 on the server, when I turn off Lemmy the load with the other 13 web services running on the server is 0.5 and when I turn on PieFed the load is 1.

Yeah a lot of instances dont report MAU or have become incompatible with websites that track such things. And its not just Misskey.

The power adapter died pretty quick witch caused a mobo failure if I recall.

Thanks but a friend of mine had bad experiences with it. Something to do with the power and hinges. Lots of costly repairs on the first year or so.

It might be me but I’m finding the big companies like Dell are doubling down a bit on their property drivers and at the same time, other companies that are simply open souring everything, if just for the “free” bug/features the community is willing to add to their platforms. It’s a strange duality to live through.

Yunohost + freshrss is an amazing combo.
