I spent so long making a reply to Dubyakay and you said just as much in a quarter of the words! Cheers!

This is an issue I see with Lemmy regarding Discord. Many people here seem to think of Discord as a messaging platform only. Which is weird because I don’t know anyone who uses it strictly for text. For example my friend group is probably 60% voice, 30% video/screen sharing & 10% text.
Does Matrix have screen sharing where multiple participants can screen share simultaneously yet? Because that’s the feature all of my friends use.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like Discord, but if no one brings up screen sharing when Matrix is mentioned as an alternative then it’ll never be implemented.
Core memory unlocked. I think I played this for a very short time back in the 2000’s.
I recently got Star Trucker on sale. Absolutely loving it so far. Scratches my ETS chill vibe and sci-fi interesting stuff vibe.
My only wish would be a way to charge batteries! I know it’s a game design decision but batteries are the bane of my existence in ST.
Ubisoft: Best I can do is another Assassins Creed crammed with micro transactions and bloat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Green energy is somehow both way too expensive and dangerously cheap.
That can literally be said by the same individuals in adjacent sentences depending on the narrative they’re spinning at the time.
Imagine a game similar to Alien Isolation where the creature is a Thing which a small LLM AI generates, would be pretty cool. The usual hallucinations that AI suffer would just suit The Thing creature aesthetic and give a huge amount of variety to in-game monsters.
Mixed with a proper horror theme and some fleshed out “are they a Thing” game mechanics and it’d at least make a super interesting game.
Steam singlehandedly stopped piracy overnight for me.
This is similar to what Netflix did to their part of the industry for a time. Everyone I knew who pirated just got a Netflix subscription. Fast forward to now and the movie industry is manning the cannons to try and take on the pirates instead of realising it was content fracturing and profiteering that brought the pirates back.
Considering they referred to it as “an Xbox” instead of a specific generation I’m going to assume they weren’t around when the first Xbox was still a thing so they’re probably new to this.
I still have my pledge to SC, ~$25 so not a big one, but I’ve all but lost hope on a release of the full scope of the game as it was set out years ago thanks to the massive amount of feature creep and mismanagement.
They’re rebranding to Halo Studios and switching from an in-house engine to Unreal Engine for all future games.
I’m not entirely sure but it always seems like a in-game time of day thing to me. In one of my worlds I used to leave to swamps in the morning and return at nightfall and that would put the wind on my side but if I reversed the times the wind would be against me.
Been playing Stellaris with friends since its release. We all still love the game but in the past couple of years it’s been almost impossible to play with a group of people due to network errors and desync. Hopefully this update fixes that.
