Yeah, this isn’t DEI, and the media needs to call that out.

No.
The answer is no. I don’t care what the circumstances of the story are. He was the responsibility of the state, and the state failed, likely out of negligence. It’s that simple.
The US treats prisons, by and large, like cages for wild animals. It’s hardly a surprise that the recidivism rate is what it is considering how convicted people are treated during and after incarceration here. I’m not saying all criminals are just good people wanting to be good in a bad system. There are certainly monsters out there, but I would argue most criminals are born out of circumstance rather than “bad wiring” or some sociopathy.
I’m curious about the same thing, but also curious what you’re using your traditional hosting for. I also have had DH shared hosting for years and never had an issue. I don’t know if I’m ready to drop it, but not sure if I still need it.
The fist headline I saw on this was full-on click-bait. Just said American was killed, so I think, “oh shit, things might get interesting.” Then I open and see in the first paragraph it was a Palestinian American, and immediately think “well shit, the people who matter aren’t going to care.” Honestly, I’m surprised any part of me still thought anyone who mattered might care at all.
That gave a fuck. Did you not see them offering their thoughts and prayers? Besides, the 2nd amendment precludes them from doing literally anything to stop that kind of child death, price of freedom, and all that.
Hey, I think you helped me answer my own question. There is no number. Price of freedom. Thoughts and prayers. Move along.
Cool.
So that username isn’t tongue-in-cheek, then. Got it.
Not to be callous, but I really have to wonder what the line is between an acceptable and unacceptable number of child deaths before someone in charge in that state actually does something. Obviously, I know the GOP playbook: the first lawmaker’s kid who dies and suddenly it will be “important,” but assuming that doesn’t happen, what’s the number?
What about Turkey? I know this isn’t about them, but it’s kind of the same problem.
This right here is the thing. Also, it helps when he wants the government to do a certain thing. People should all read up on Randolph Hearst, because that’s why guys like Bezos buy the Post and Musk buys Twitter.
I think we’re all aware that the threat of jail time doesn’t really need a legal reason with this administration. Seriously, people are just going to be disappeared to El Salvador.
Oh he absolutely knows he can because last time he gave them to Rush Fucking Limbaugh & Sheldon Goddamn Adleson.
So the argument is ICE can send people there, but we have no authority to retrieve people!? This is getting into crimes against humanity areas.
Nah, just being dumb. Was thinking Sarah Marshall, and brain said, “Sarah… Silverman?”
As I’ve been watching Diddy and Beand go down, I’ve been thinking to myself, “Damn, and I really like that movie!” I just need to remember to say “scandals noted” when watching this or Forgetting Sarah Silverman in the future.
Unless you believe [insert anny manosphere influencer here] about anything.
Right!? At this point it would be news for one of his exes to come out saying he was a “perfect gentleman,” and that her parents loved him.
The US may not have military parades in a traditional sense, but they absolutely have something similar: at just about any outdoor sporting event from the college level to pro, there’s some sort of military “thing.” Whether it be a fly-over, funded by the Pentagon, or a color guard there for the national anthem. Also, at NASCAR races, the Army either used to or still does sponsor a car. Those are the examples I can think of off the top of my head. It’s not. North Korea or USSR by any means, but it’s kind of always there.
Edit: correcting some misspellings
Yeah, do we really need a deep dive for RCA here!? It’s pretty obvious that incompetent people behaved incompetently.
They haven’t exactly been kind to him thus far. And I know there’s the whole “how do they enforce their ruling” thing, but there are ways they can. Unfortunately, those aren’t levers you want to be quick to pull. I think they’ll ultimately have to be used, but it’s going to take some time.
If I understood correctly, he manually runs watchtower to poll rather than leaving it running all the time. What wasn’t clear to me was if he has it doing the updates (evidenced by him saying he cleans up where needed after) or just pull down the updated images and he then manually restarts/rebuilds the container.
I leave it running all the time and it only updates at something like 03:00. The only containers I don’t have set to latest are DBs as major updates tend to break things.
