IIRC you never actually have to shoot any of the civilians in that level, but as players we all assumed that you did. IMO that level was the most interesting commentary that has been made in the COD series because it (somewhat sneakily) put the onus onto the player. Most of us just assumed that we needed to gun down the civilians without choice. In my opinion its one of the more poignant moments in the entire series for how it handled such a grim story beat.
I thought it was good and fun but have decided to shelve it for a while to give the devs time to finish it. In its current state it feels similar to playing Fallout 4. I think once A-Live is fully implemented it will be a much more interesting game to play.
I played cyberpunk at release and it left a sour taste in my mouth, to the point that I don’t think I’ll ever replay cyberpunk (even though I understand that the game is largely fixed now). I think by holding off on playing Stalker 2 I’ll get to play something closer to the devs original vision of it without spoiliing the game for myself.
