I think this is good news which seems hard to believe right now. I’m sure someone will find a way to make this terrible but on it’s face we are watching an important anti-trust ruling take place. Google’s monopoly on the browser is dangerous and unhealthy. Taking it away from them is absolutely the right thing to do. Who inherits the power over the single browser used by most of the world remains to be seen though.

I understand feeling frustrated about Kash Patel’s actions, but this kind of ethnic stereotyping isn’t the way to express it. The “Patels should stick to corner stores” comment reinforces harmful stereotypes about an entire community of people.

People with the surname Patel are doctors, engineers, artists, teachers—contributing to society in countless ways. When we reduce any group to a stereotype, even in casual comments, we lose sight of their humanity and individuality.

We can criticize someone’s actions without bringing their ethnicity into it. I’m sure you didn’t mean harm, but these small moments are where we can all help build a more thoughtful community.

This is an underrated story I think. Elon Musk literally purchased the opportunity to fire the person primarily responsible for regulating Space X which is intimately tied to his other business Starlink. Choosing is not so much about whether it’s internet facing or not. From the programmer’s perspective and an administrator’s perspective there are pros and cons to both. As someone looking to self-host, if you want to run a service that works with either, I would make the choice based on what seems the most supported, or which one you feel the most comfortable looking up and performing administrative tasks on. I tend to use postgresql more just because I have more experience with it and can recommend it if that’s what you need, but mysql can be just as good or better in many circumstances. Pick whichever one looks easier to you.

The reason we keep seeing this is because it’s a basic loyalty test for Team Trump. Trump (and company) made the great lie and if you want to be seen as team player than you need to back it too. Gang tactics 101.
