Solid take 👍
Eh, I think there’s a need for appropriate technology here. Lemmy is inherently a multi-modal platform, with images, links, and text. I like the browser skins and apps that browse Lemmy.
As an educational project or simply for fun I say go for it.
This is the same logic that keeps coal on life support.
Good for them. Cyberpunk was an excellent game, and the Phantom Liberty expansion was dope. The multiple different endings made the game much more replayable. Some of the endings are some of the saddest in videogames lately.
Yes, I agree on the alcohol tax re. Healthcare costs. However, I ferment my own drinks and I’d like to point out the irony of buying raw ingredients + yeast, vs buying a prepared drink. It’s like you are getting taxed for convenience as a deterrent.
Lol this is just a joke… Food should have always been completely tax free! Two weeks?!? What kind of circus is this?? Is he trying to buy votes for $250/pop? I’m amazed at what they come up with next.
I worked for a competitor, (not laid off, just quit to take a break). AMD seems to pay a bit better and the office is closer to home. They have been stealing coworkers over the years. I get the impression that the company culture is a bit more about taking risks. My old employer was very conservative, and even though I was working in the least conservative team, I still felt like the culture was too slow.
Why? Is it a bad place to work? Spill the beans lol
Damn, literally just wanted to work there
Jesus, call Polievre lots of things but seriously, a threat to democracy? Damnit, I vote Left and this just makes me realize the Tyee isn’t a particularly good or vetted news source. (Admittedly, what did I expect, you do get what you pay for.)
Completely agree. I think this article is nothing but “rage-bait”… no wait… “fear-mongering”? Somewhere in the middle.
They updated their description of how their search engine works. The new description is still factual, while being slightly easier to understand. The new description also has some fancy marketing flair. They still make it pretty clear that they use other search engines via anonymous calls.
I wouldn’t call that shady at all… Unless maybe I’m completely missing the point here.
I think this is a fairly benign move with a valid explanation that has been taken out of context in order to be more inflamitory
Wow. The L2 is 16 times larger than what I have now. I can’t imagine the breakneck performance.
I have a TP-Link router. Maybe I’m an idiot, but I searched around for a bit and I literally could not find which models of router were effected. All articles about Botnet-7777 are frustratingly vague with this.
Funny enough I never used Lemmy without a private instance, so I wouldn’t know!
Oh okay gotcha. Thanks a lot for spelling it out for me (not sarcasm). I honestly just was confused about the jargon. I watched that one documentary on Thatcher, it seems like that’s exactly what her policies did and it earned lots of her high-class friends a lot of money at the expense of the citizens. It seems like I sat through the whole thing without absorbing that one word.
I feel like I have to defend myself a bit and say that it’s not that I’m not into politics, it’s just that I’m not into the flame-war, pick-a-side, bash the other party sort of politics. I vote in every election and I have a very nuanced view of most issues.
I agree with your analysis on why the free market would not be able to self-regulate in this case. It’s funny because I myself have launched a food complaint with the BC admin before, and yeah let’s just say the company never would have fixed it themselves in the free market.
I just want to say that as a non-native speaker, the word “liberal” has taken on and been used in so many forms that you can’t quite infer the meaning in a lot of cases.
Good catch! The POG is always in the comments.
Hi. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way. People have put a lot of effort into developing Lemmy as both a software and a community, and it wasn’t my intention to devalue anyone’s efforts or say that it’s a lost cause. I think people should continue using Lemmy. This was just literally my stream of consciousness. I’m more upset that the original Reddit is gone and I wanted to highlight how Lemmy is not a perfect replacement.
