  • GMOs are not dangerous, it’s ridiculous how people are still believing in that bullshit. If anything GMOs can be much healthier for us than regular crops, you know why? Because we can make GMOs that need waaaaaay less pesticides than regular crops, we can make GMOs that have way more vitamins and nutrients that the regular version of those plants lack (I’m still incredibly pissed that the golden rice incident happened, rice that can give thousands of malnourished people the vitamin A they needed to not go blind was destroyed because of this ridiculous and baseless fear). By making GMOs we can carefully make plants that grow faster, healthier food with less need of pesticides if needed at all, capable of surviving the harsh climates that global warming is throwing at all of our crops, with no negatives (intellectual property is an issue caused by capitalism, not inherit to only GMOs).

  • I think that the big thing for the general public is not that Linux will now be easy to use/accessible, it currently is pretty much there with many different distros, it’s that there’s a known face behind it. In the general public Linux is just this weird thing that isn’t really attached to anything besides the super tech savvy, so they think they can’t use it because they aren’t super tech savvy. By making it steam’s Linux, they can go “oh I know steam, they do stuff really well for people like me! This is probably easy enough that I can use!”

Another thing that will help is a centralization of support. With enough people using it questions and bugs will be more common and more accessible as well as answered. Currently for you to find help for your issue you need to look for your specific distro and try to also parse if the answers for other distros would help you with your issue.

  • You didn’t even watch the video, did you? This was not affecting only those who were a sponsor for honey, they affected EVERYONE who had an affiliate link, from the Mrbeast youtubers to people who actually check their sponsors because honey.

What honey would do is take away any affiliate commission for themselves, not only taking that money but by changing the cookie from others to theirs, so if a person with an affiliate link that did everything right, got a good sponsor with integrity and did a proper video showing the good and bad side of their product would still lose because instead of the sales showing that people came from the good creator, honey would change to their tracking, making the business not want to sponsor the good creator and the good creator wouldn’t even get their commission from the sales they made because honey stole them

  • If the third party is actually able to represent the people better than one of the current two why can’t it be switched to it? It could start with local elections to then state level candidates, it wouldn’t be a switch out of the blue, most people wouldn’t even know it exists the first few elections (hell, just the amount of people googling if Biden had dropped out of the race on the day of elections shows how uninformed people can be) but the current state of the democratic party can’t stay, it either gets kicked out or it adapts because of competition
