  • Not complicated or difficult to understand.

Poor have more children, because poor are generally more uneducated, especially in 3rd world countries. It is the more informed and educated that are having less children. People that are more informed and educated, generally think long term, and don’t just succumb to immediate gratification. Immediate gratification for someone who is poor, the cheapest thing is sex, and unprotected at that.

Not to mention less educated people are more easily indoctrinated into devout religious beliefs. And the abrahamic religions and it’s offshoots all strongly encourage having children.

    It’s really not that complicated.

  • Fair enough, my wording was too simplistic. But I stand by what I said, and try to explain it better.

Generally in the US, you have no choice but to own a car. It’s significantly more difficult if you can’t except for a few outliers like NYC (public transport everywhere but much higher cost of living?).

It’s very difficult not to have a phone and internet, and be able to function in society, finding and keeping a job among other things.

It’s extremely difficult to be homeless or live in your car, not to mention very uncomfortable.

Health insurance premiums whether you need healthcare or not.

Most jobs are tied to a 40hr or more workweek. Some of which don’t pay enough necessitating second jobs. Overwork and exhaustion resulting in limited ability to gain skills to escape.

Energy industry: try living without oil, gas, electricity, etc. it’s impossible.

    • transportation
    • housing
    • energy related, electricity
    • phone, internet
    • healthcare

My argument, is that these are every day extreme necessities, and they account for the vast majority of our expenses. We don’t have a choice to do without any single one of these (without severe hardship or external support). This is how we’re pseudo-enslaved. All of these things represent billions upon trillions of dollars of profit that mostly go to the elite. All of these above, should be completely socialized/nationalized and have the profit motive removed (as necessities).

Free market capitalism is fine for things like PS5s, BMWs, yachts, mansions, breast implants, and gold plated iPhones. People can work to get luxuries. But having basic necessities met (simple smart phone, clean housing, basic transportation, etc.) should be part of a civilized society. It would mean no more billionaires.

This doesn’t mean people should be able to sit around, do nothing, and get free stuff. Everyone should contribute. Some of the most important jobs like teaching kids, construction, nurses, etc. get shit pay, while billionaires play stock market games.

Honestly I think the concept is simple. There’s money to do all this. It’s just currently going to the wrong people.

  • Well said, I sympathize and we have very similar backgrounds based on what you’ve said. Are your sins and blood on your hands due to working for defense contractors or military or related? If so I feel that to my core. I tried saying “at least I’m not making bombs or missiles”, but even if you’re supporting them in other ways it’s still part of the machine where poor people end up dead or impoverished, all because of billionaires war games. And they get richer along the way.

We’re not special. We’re primates. The greatest smartest ape on the planet. But it’s still just a more advanced and complex form of what chimps do in the wild. The animalistic competition and domination is fucking stupid when you start to recognize it. We’re the only fucking species intelligent enough to transcend that shit, yet look at us?

Take what I say with a very fine grain of salt. And I would never presume know what’s best for people or try to tell anyone what to do. But if you want to be effective in the one in a billion chance there’s a revolution or anything remotely like it, maybe prepare? Health wise and whatever else you might think. I’d like to smoke and drink every day too, but what about just in case? Personally I’m ready to pull the trigger if an opportunity arises, but I would want it to count. Yeah, I’m kinda saying don’t give up just yet. They way you think, we need people like you.

I don’t think people like you and I are alone. I think it’s possible more people are/will grow to feel and think this way, given the way things are going.

  • Not difficult to understand.

    Why bother?

There’s very little hope for a decent life. It’s not rocket surgery. Unless you get lucky being born into wealth, success in entertainment industry, stock market stuff, something else that gets you enough money to be financially independent… is rare and unlikely.

The rest have to work jobs we hate. Rising cost of living. Own a home… Ha! Then you work your shit job and when you retire at 70 it’s mostly just time to die, having wasted life working to prop up some billionaires enjoying yachts and diddling kids.

People are realizing there’s not much hope for a large number of us.

Tax the rich or bring back guillotines, or both.
