It’s not even real. It’s a fabricated story to push an agenda of a special interest group.
Edit: to clarify, the news story is real, the mom’s story isn’t. It’s just a fiction to push the agenda.
you’re probably an idiot. I know I am.

People eat and talk about McDonalds every day, but that doesn’t make it haute cuisine.
I’m so confused, I’m a Spotify user and there are multiple artists I’ve selected “don’t play this artist” on that Spotify blocks for me; it won’t even play those artists when I click playlists including them.
I agree with you, but I do believe that is an unrealistic expectation for interacting with casual lemmy posts when a custom of including relevant context exists. But all good, I’ll admit my lack of awareness on this one; you did nothing wrong.
It’s been covered in tons of gaming circles this week alongside the similar destruction of Polygon, so I didn’t think it needed to be stated yet again as I was summarizing bullet points from a live stream.
Very fair and valid.
I will just gently state that this is c/games, not c/gamingcircles and thus many of us are very interested in video games but not necessarily the industries on the periphery thereof, so what seems “yet again” to you might be a first time for others.

You know that for the vast majority of human history copyright didn’t exist, and yet people still created art and culture, right?
edit: If you’re gonna downvote, have the balls to explain how I’m wrong.
Are the cops you know actively marching in the streets in the name of justice and demanding police reform from their unions and leaders? Are they actively and consistently doing this, actively working to dismantle corruption and systemic problems with policing, every day?
Because if not, that’s how we know.
Cool, pedant. Addend “on google” to my comment then if you need, since that’s clearly the context we’re talking about here. I’m aware there are other search engines, but context should have made what I was talking about pretty fucking obvious.
Don’t worry, I’m sure google will disable that soon in the same way they disable all the other search syntax that used to make searching a simple and easy task
Frequently the point of comparing the two is to caution before they actually become comparable, though. I think it’s intentional hyperbole to make a stark point, not an insensitive reduction.
