Hardware keeps getting kore powerful but programs aren’t really doing anything more for us. Games look pretty much the same at anything but the highest settings and a browser does the same shit it did ten years ago, but with all this hardware the devopers stopped giving a shit. “Who cares if it’s good for a 2070, a handful of 5090s exist!”

People don’t want to deal with the discomfort of facing that they supported, even by accident, a piece of crap and it only gets worse each day that put it off. And it’s not an excuse, I think they’re weak for it.

I’ve done it before, and I will not make excuses for it. I made a priority and sometimes I’m ashamed of that choice. For music and other art…there’s just so much good shit out there that I really don’t care if I can’t listen to a certain band/artist anymore.

Once capitalism has regulations to keep it in check and a democratically elected government is in charge and willing to do those things it’s no longer capitalism. Capitalism is putting monied interests first and crossing your fingers that the free hand of the market is anything more than a fairy told to naive idiots to make them support a corrupt-by-design system, such that those monied interests can be said to be chosen “democratically”(vote with your wallets).

Capitalism just sucks. It was made up so parasites nobles didn’t have to give up their ill-gotten wealth when feudalism ended. Fuckin’ thing is rotten to its core.

Look, if Canadians were willing to vote in the Liberals then I think we can get over some of this stuff, and that’s coming from someone who’s learning French in Montréal despite it being a place one can be very anglpphone in.

I’m always astounded at the near universal human ability to act as though some demented fuckhead is some super wizard who forces them to do shit. Putin is just some guy, he’s largely useless and he wears stupid high-heels because he’s not even able to stand up to his own crap. Everyone could just start ignorning him tomorrow but they don’t.

Part of that problem is there are a lot of people who love to be thugs. They’re just broken losers who love taking orders that let them be mean to others and the world would be so much better with them as red paste on the sidewalk to be washed away by the rain.

I read it as “we are aware that these two ideologies are different and frankly they are both such absolute garbage that we don’t really care to distinguish them all that much.”

It’s to show that there is literacy and understanding of nuance there, but that at the end of the day it’s more of a “fun fact” when the centrists keep supporting the conservatives as their general default. Even when Liberals do nothing is about how that nothing is consistently helping the far-right get away with shit while aggressively discouraging progressive change.

Conservatives are nationalist morons who are trying to conserve and bring back a lot of the systems that let low-quality privileged people in their given society keep all the power. Liberals don’t have hating minorites as a policy goal but they also refuse to believe that doing nothing will not, in fact, make up for hundreds of years of systemic issues. Conservatives will try to fix capitalism by ethnic minorities and Liberals will try to fix by getting rid of rules which “might stifle economic expansion”. Neither of those ideologies are worth anything though they are different.

Marketing and advertising are like enchantment spells in fantasy. Theoretically they have beneficial uses but for some reason the only thing we can think to do with them is try our best to remove consent and be generally intrusive.

I just don’t touch it. I don’t even get the desire to use it.

I’m a young millenial and I definitely know people using ChatGPT. They shouldn’t be, but they are.

They can also control the US by just denying them vehicles. Hondas are incredibly popular vehicles, and removing them and their parts from the market would piss a LOT of people off.

Capitalism is where the money is the important part and has the power yet whenever these corporations find themselves in a position where the system could actually function in some vaguely beneficial way for society they still fall all over themselves to suck off whatever shitstain is causing problems.

I hope that one day we fix our bullshit and stop relying on corporations to save us. This should should be regulated to hell and back by representatives and their teams who are at worst just mediocre at their jobs.

How have I proved that the NDP weren’t an option? My entire complaint was that people believe them to not be an option, I’ve never argued that, but that they are intensely wrong about every point that gets brought up in support of their cowardice and/or they should stop lying about the fact that they never wanted to vote for them in the first place. Maybe you lost the plot somewhere along the road here but I’ve been very consistent about why I originally commented and how I’ve been talking about it.

Then again, we’ve already been over that strategic voters aren’t super good at paying attention or keeping the goalposts in one place.

So they show us that they can represent(lead) their people even when it’s diffocult and even when the most power they have is leveraging their very few seats under a minority government and that doesn’t show leadership potential to you? And the Liberals showed us over and over that the most they can be trusted with is not making things massively worse on purpose. And I’m still not forgiving them for promising voting reform to get elected and throwing it out when they learned that if people actually had a real choice they’d likely never win again.

Canadians need to grow up. We sit here absolutely terrified to the point where the Liberals can do whatever they want since no one is paying attention and no one has the slightest spine necessary to stand up against them. They could run a stale bagel against some super charismatic NDP leader and it wouldn’t matter if the voter base is just going to say “I don’t want to vote for them but I need to”. We’re trained like abused dogs to run back to our shitty owners out of fear of retribution.

They’ve shown themselves to be effective during the Liberal’s minority government, and both the Liberals and Conservatives may be “tested” but they have failed those tests to varying degrees.

And then there’s that “charismatic leader” crap. PP was such a dweeby shit-stain that even some Conservatives, such as my dad who surprisingly voted against him, thought he was childish asshole. Trudeau was just attractive but very hollow, and Carney is so fucking bland I still can’t even see him as the PM and he feels more like an “acting PM”. Meanwhile everyone is always saying that the NDP needs to have some uber charismatic leader to deserve any votes and even though Singh was very vocal despite the party’s lack of seats that apparently didn’t count. He didn’t just bend to the Liberals and used the NDP’s power within the minority government to represent their people and to push leftist policy.

Everything you’ve said sounds fine if you don’t look into any further than that. They don’t hold up under any amount of scrutiny.
