Really, that’s what these businesses are good for: a barometer of social pressures and cultural views.

A poll can be twisted whichever way, pundits on TV can say whatever they want, but at the end of the day a company will do what makes it the most money. It’s the truest measure of what the majority of society thinks.

So if being LGBTQ friendly gets them more money, they will, and if being nasty to LGBTQ people gets them more money, they’ll do that.

Them pulling LGBTQ stuff back is far more a condemnation of society than of the company.

At this point, with him announcing to all and sundry during the campaign that he was going to do this, not bothering to vote was still a vote.

And the hell of it is, the government can force you to. They have full authority to garnish your wages and give it to your parents, even if you don’t want to support them.

Imagine being told every minute of every day that you don’t matter. That as a woman, your only purpose is to glorify men, support men, breed more men. That it’s the greatest and highest calling of women to surrender your life and your choices to men.

That women are stupid and sinners because of Eve’s actions, and will be forever. So you can never be allowed any kind of authority, because like Eve you’ll just do something foolish or abuse it.

Now imagine everyone and everything around you shows and supports this worldview. All the time.

That’s where it comes from. When something is all you’ve ever known, then it’s normal. And, even if you consciously don’t believe it, it still worms its way inside of you.

It’s definitely more of a ‘The Rapture is coming! The Rapture is coming!’ Type of nonsense.
