Thats because it wasnt originally called AI. It was called an LLM. Techbros trying to sell it and articles wanting to fan the flames started called it AI and eventually it became common dialect. No one in the field seriously calls it AI, they generally save that terms to refer to general AI or at least narrow ai. Of which an llm is neither.

  • So youve never used it as a starting point to learn about a new topic? You’ve never used it to look up a song when you can only remember a small section of lyrics? What about when you want to code a block of code that is simple but monotonous to code yourself? Or to suggest plans for how to create simple sturctures/inventions?

Anything with a verifyable answer that youd ask on a forum can generally be answered by an llm, because theyre largely trained on forums and theres a decent section the training data included someone asking the question you are currently asking.

Hell, ask chatgpt what use cases it would recommend for itself, im sure itll have something interesting.

  • Contrary to the other commentor, I actually think this is a very reasonable, well rationalized take. I never claimed that biden did better, because I havent looked into that specifically. My only issue is that a lot of trumps policies and actions specifically made it worse. And as far as the spikes under bidens term went, what percentage of those people were unvaccinated, despite a vaccine being available and effective at that point? I havent verified, but id be willing to bet its almost a 1:1 correlation. Just like there is a nearly 1:1 correlation between a certain political party and antivaccine views.

My point being that trumps cult is largely still responsible because he massively helped the antivaxxer movement, despite one of Trumps major 3 good accomplishments (IMO) being the creation of the vaccine. (Created during his term, obv he did not create it himself)

  • So 2020, which by your inaccurate account, was the start of covid. When dealing with a global disease that has the potential to overload the medical system prior to getting a vaccine, what year do you think is the most important?

Of course Trump couldnt have stopped covid from destroying the rest of the world. But he could have lessened its impact on the US. Instead, he thought it would magically dissappear by easter. Due to his cult of personality, people were explicitly attempted to spread covid. He constantly undercut what actual scientists and health experts were stating, in favor of pushing ivermectin and hydroxychloroquin, both of which have been shown to be ineffective in treating covid, and can actually make your issues worse. He failed in his response to covid across the board and reaulted in hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths.

  • What is a democrat? “In a hypothetical world” implies the names have simply swapped, in which case yes. Republicrats would do what they do. If its a policy swap, its basically the same thing. Democrats as they are now simply do not have the backbone to try and “rig” the election, because they prefer ethics and morals over actually helping their constituents.

I dont want to make it sound like democrats can do no wrong, their lack of spine is their worst feature. They wont take risks such as actually moving to the left to get things done. Prime ratchet effect. Instead they want to play to moderate voters, aka republican lite. As a result democrats slowly move more to the right and get less good done each new cycle.
