  • Ironically the “Free Democrats” which are like a milktoast version of Musk style Neoliberalism/light Fascism, with recent endorsements of Musk by their party leadership, have gotten a good result in the previous election primarily because of their social media campaigns. Of course having the Axel-Springer Media heavily favor them also played a role. It is the publisher that recently had Musk endorse the fascist AfD party in an article.

But if you think this “Free Democrats” only recently got in bed with fascism, don’t worry. They were also the party with the most ex-NSDAP members after WW2 and they advocated for “looking past” the Nazi history in the 50s already.

  • These arent nested. Any of these can happen independently and any one of them happening makes some others more likely to happen too.

Each of them adds to shifting the balance of power and noone knows where the breaking point is.

Of course there is also a few IFs going the other way around, or were we just know it will have an impact but not which way

If the Russian people get fed up with the economy…

    If Putin dies…

    If Trump dies…

    If Xi dies…

If there is an escalation in South East Asia…

If there is a further escalation in West Asia…

    If there is a major climate event in Russia/Eastern Europe/Western Europe/North America…

  • China’s Ambassador Zhang Jun said that the most urgent action the Council should take is calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, in line with the wishes of the UN General Assembly and the UN Secretary-General. Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China, addressing the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question. United Nations Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China, addressing the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.

He said the Council had dragged its feet and wasted too much time in this regard.

With a view to safeguarding the UN Charter and the “dignity” of the Council, together with the view of Arab States, China therefore voted against the US draft.

He pointed to the new draft resolution from the 10 elected Council members now circulating: “This draft is clear on the issue of a ceasefire and is in line with the correct direction of the Council action and is of great relevance. China supports this draft.”

From the ceasefire resolution that was passed three days later, note with the US abstaining to vote and immediately lying about the binding character of the resolution to then continue arm Israel with billions worth of bombs to murder tens of thousands more Palestinians.

A US-proposed draft to end the war in Gaza was vetoed by permanent Council members China and Russia, in a vote of 11 favour to three against (Algeria, China, Russia) and one abstention (Guyana)
Several ambassadors voiced their support for a new draft proposed by the “E-10” group of non-permanent Council members, which calls for an immediate ceasefire
The vetoed draft would have made imperative an immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza, with an “urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance” to all civilians and lifting “all barriers” to delivering aid
Council members disagreed over elements of the draft, and some highlighted glaring exclusions despite having raised multiple concerns with the US during negotiations
Ambassadors largely supported swift action to bring food and lifesaving aid at scale into Gaza, where concerns of famine grew as Israel continues to block and slow walk shipments into the besieged enclave
Some Council members called for pursuing the two-State solution to the ongoing conflict
Israel’s ambassador was invited to speak, calling the draft’s failure to pass and condemn Hamas “a stain that will never be forgotten”

You are trying to frame not licking Netanyahus and the US boots as they commit a genocide as opposing a ceasefire, when in fact it was about demanding a ceasefire in line with the realities on the ground.

  • Noone said Trump was going to be better. We said that the Democrats needed to be punished for supporting genocide and Israelis fascism in an effort to make them reconsider that. This is not about winning an immediate political win, as the US has many people quite contempt with supporting a genocide.

However in the long run punishing the Democrats for supporting genocide and Israeli fascism will make the party abandon that position or perish to a better progressive party.

This is why AIPAC gained power in the first place. They established the ability to punish and make the party lose that opposed them. Not to make their supporter win, but to make their opponent lose. This way they made sure that both parties would make the US the little bitch of Israel.

And now that Harris lost, with many voters being alienated because of the Democratic party supporting the genocide and Israeli fascism, AIPAC is doing overtime to downplay the effect Gaza had on the election and Israel has upped its propaganda budget extensively.

We are flipping the script and it is working, but it takes more time. And it takes a look beyond the next election, which is why the propaganda effort for the last election was to make all target audiences of the Democratic party just panick over this election instead of thinking long term. This is not just a play by the Israel lobby but also by the “liberal” side of the Oligarchy that are represented by the Democratic party.

  • A lot of the pathetic IDF “soldiers” are happy with murdering women and children though. Many have proudly shared videos of their warcrimes online. They dont want to fight against an adversary. They want so slaughter people to further their “Lebensraum” as they consider themselves the superior race.

FFS Smotrich refered to himself as fascist. Ben Gvir is from the “Jewish Power” party.

Israel is a country with a strong embrace for open fascism and an even stronger agreement with fascism without calling it that explicitly.

If they ever want to return from that to sanity it will require a reeducation campaign where every Israeli will need to go through years of reeducation, psychological treatment and a lot of them through years in prison or lifelong imprisonment.

  • US propaganda has been focused on telling people nonstpp how Muslims and Chinese are all just busy hating the US because of their “muuh freedom” and their greatest whishes is to take that “freedom” away. Also they are all underdeveloped peasants according to the propaganda.

The greatest danger to that propaganda model is normal people talking with each other and realizing people are just people with people problems. Doesn’t matter where in the world you are. The average person will worry about paying their bills, their work, the health of their family and how their kids do in school.

People in warzones care about staying alive and overcoming their attackers, but even then most people who have been at the end of American barrels or barrels allied to the US just want to be left the fuck alone in their own countries. Very few actually want to destroy the US, despite having their family members murdered by the US or its Allies. (Same goes for people dealing with Russian, French or other foreign military attacks)

  • And we keep the government out of finding scientific truths for good reasons. Independence of science is crucial. Also scientific trith is not absolute. No scientist worth his salt will say “x is true and y is false”. They would say “we have strong evidence to support x and we have strong evidence that y is not the case under all tested circumstances.”

Courts move slow and only in acvordance with the lae. For instance in my country politics decided to define Afghanistan as a secure country of origin by law, to make it impossible for people to seek Asylum from there. That was the legislative opinion of “fact”. And that also was while the Taliban was retaking large swaths of the country and months later took full control. Iirc. it was only stopped when the constitutional court decided much later, that clearly this is wrong.

I am not against fact checking. But if you mandate it by law, you must observe the adherence to the law. And for that you ultimately need to grant the government the definition of what is true and what is not, simply in order to measure the adherence to the law by.

  • The Houthis are leveraging their geographical location geopolitically now.

This would not have worked so easily if they couldnt justify it with targetting supporters of Israels genocide in Gaza.

We will see if and how the Hothis continue, but with adding an end to strikes on Yemen to their demands and the US, UK, allies and Israeli attacks on Yemen they gained a plausible reason to continue.

This also weakens Egypt as a key western ally/puppet in the region, whose government heavily relies on the income from the Suez channel.

Finally the Houthis managed to regain sympathy in the Arab populations as they stood in for Palestine while most Arab leaders stood by idle or doubled down on supporting Israel.

  • No, it is not the slippery slope fallacy. If you create an instrumemt that obligates fact checking, you have to give someone authority to define what are facts and what arent. And as this is obligatory by law, these fact checkers are subject to supervision or are directly part of the government.

So now the government gets to decide what are facts and what are not. Which can easily be abused. Especially as disinformation through so called fact checkers can move as fast as any other disinformarion.

So at the very least you need to create a sanction regime, e.g. criminal punishment for the abuse of the fact checking, as well as a right for people to have the fact checking checked and challenged, if they think it spreads lies against them. This way you can have it analysed by courts, as the most neutral authority in a state of law.

I dont get how people in Europe, where i live by the way, especially with the experience of Mussolini, Hitler and Franco fascism, as well as all the Warsaw pact authoritarianism, GDR surveillance, red scare policies in the Western countries during cold war, etc. are just treating this so lightly.

Authoritarian regimes based on lies and forbidding the truth are not some abstract. They are both an extensive reality of the recent past as well as looking at Orban, Melloni, Wilders, Merz and many others they are reemerging right now.
