As a LEGO System bricks enjoyer, I also call them legos. When I need to blow my nose and the box is too far away, I ask someone to pass the kleenexes. If I have a headache, I ask for some asprins. I still watch movies on videotapes, and I own a few thermoses. I can’t wait to google some more genericized trademarks on Duck Duck Go after I finish typing this.
Puberty blockers aren’t life long. Puberty is. These parents aren’t trying to give their kids sex change operations. They’re trying to give their kids a chance to make those decisions for themselves.
It’s ugly for sure, but I think the biggest barrier to entry is the shortcut keys. Blender’s Industry Standard mode makes it a lot easier for Maya users to switch. Something similar for Photoshop users would kill.

My little brother was expelled from school in 1st grade for drawing a gun (which looked far more like a banana) and pointing it at another kid. That was in rural Alabama in 2000. Nothing new here.
