“Except for the part when the aircraft collided, everything was perfectly normal” does not inspire confidence in the system…

On a theoretical level this is a good idea. I do think that press availability shoukd be extended to professionals outside the big news corps.

However… we all know how this is going to be exploited by this administration. They are going to fill the press seats with social media allies so they can push out or ignore journalists asking critical questions.

Chicago police said they were not notified of the alleged incident.

Sounds like neither ICE nor the people trusted the police to be on their side.
