The line I was reacting to stated an overnight low of 95. It was 104 by 9:30am. We’ve had stretches where it didn’t dip below 85 (cycle of nightly cloud cover basically acting as a wet blanket) and it was absolutely miserable. A low of 95 is nightmare territory.

Just a reminder that “the government” now includes Palantir’s dystopian surveillance suite. You can be sure that every target has a confidence rating assigned to it as to what kind of resistance can be expected. The small percentage of people that maintain a low enough profile to be able to be armed without having any sort of red flag attached are likely to be assigned a low confidence rating. Yes, there will always be a chance that there’s a mismatch. But the goons on the ground are being sent after the lowest hanging fruit. They may be mouth breathing meatsacks, but the ones calling the shots are not.
