I would say it’s essential for multiplayer games with servers because I wouldn’t want to host my games for free if I were a business and P2P connectivity is more hackable.

Exactly. Don’t need DRM unless multiplayer.
Yes but more that that, not just old games should be on GoG, all offline games should be on GoG.
The workers and gamers would own the fucking companies if I was ‘in charge’. I have no intention of letting poor management ruin any of the games. I would kill Ubisoft to signal the end of an old rotten era and the beginning of a new, better era. Death is not a thing to be shunned and rejected as much as accepted as a vital step of the natural cycle. Like an over grown predator in the wilds, its death would sustain and entire ecosystem unto itself spurning the creation of newer smaller life.
Why are you defending Ubisoft like they actually give a shit about their workers? They clearly don’t more than any other tech company otherwise they’d be more like Larian less like EA or Activision. There’s more reasons to kill them off and break them up than let them live.
No, let them die. Better to start fresh than start cursed.
Ubisoft deserves to go bankrupt, get dissolved, and have their IP’s sold to people aren’t malicious.
That’s a positive perspective.
I’ve seen a lot of that in leftists spaces lately, way more cautious of it now.
Engagement may not be great but it wins. Imo fediverse needs engagement to live long term but maybe doesn’t need toxicity for it, but addiction is inherently a little toxic.
Yes we should be thoughtful, not everyone is unfortunately.
How fucking dare you seek genuine humanity online. lol
I think letting people say anything (with obvious bannable exceptions like abuse, threats of violence, death, rape, and cp) helps, that fact checking or being wrong should not be bannable, and that people should be given more ways to conflict with each other but in a way that spurns creative debate not pure hostility but that pure hostility has real value to show people whether or not they should change and shouldn’t be shut down outright. Like commenting ‘fuck you’ should be allowed anywhere but not ‘fuck you go kys’ because it’s destructive not constructive; like if people with unpopular opinions weren’t allowed to silence dissent, they’d actually change their opinions and do better.
I disagree that kindness should be pursued foremost. Knowledge and truth should be pursued and kindness shouldn’t be allowed in charge because when it is you get shit like language policing which is insanely toxic and stupefying.
You want kindness? Go somewhere designed to be wholesome but please, for the love of honesty and free speech, don’t enforce that crap site wide.
You would think the internet is full of bees looking to make honey but really it’s full of beetles wanting to roll their shit.
My bad. At least that doesn’t change my point as tanks are that too.
When Miyazaki said the AI ghiblifier is an affront to art, I couldn’t help but think that before WW1, tanks were called an affront to horsemanship.
Seems to me that by definition America is more Viking than the Danes as I’ve never seen Danes go raiding in my life while in America that’s a Wednesday.
Not how this works.
You want to know the history, read.

If you’re talking about the base population of Palestine being held being held captive, maybe Hamas should’ve accepted sovereignty and a two state when it was on the table of using humanitarian funds to build a tunnel network and military headquarters under schools and hospitals they can launch missiles at Israel from.
What Israel is doing is cruel and they are going to reap this karma for decades if not centuries to come but because of the nature of war it is more justifiable to completely annihilate and enemy than to leave them standing given such history, because this enemy does not accept peace, wants global jihad, has equal capacity for cruelty, and is just as zealous if not more than they are sometimes.
According to Sun Tzu, if it gets down to this, when you cannot win against this foe through diplomacy, if you do not crush the enemy entirely they will simply regroup and try again. He learned that during a time in China where kingdoms were being established and genocide wasn’t considered a war crime but a punishment for losing a war without accepting defeat. This what Israel is facing. You could say the times are different but in this way, war never changes.
This war reveals the harshest truths about humanity. If you think peace is achievable, it’s not anymore without finishing the war because of how clear it is to Israel and Palestine right now that they would rather die or kill than live with each other in anxiety and fear.
I’m sorry but I’ve heard Jews and Palestinians outside of Israel complain about Hamas specifically for a very long time and I can’t believe they genuinely want peace because they still have hostages, considering Israel said this conflict will end when the hostages are released many times now and offered to make Palestine a sovereign state seven times over in the past for Hamas to reject it.
Israel is angry at Hamas like they never have been before and it seems to me Hamas only wants peace now because they’re losing and are afraid.
My bad, I thought it was temporary not lasting.
That said I stand by my doubts that this will end without total annihilation on either side. Israel can’t forgive Hamas or Hamas Israel without either side literally changing theirs beliefs and values which ain’t happening.
It’s like October made Israel snap and escalate their mindset to, ‘this isn’t over until they are, no more peace only war’ which is where Palestine has been since the 40s.
Depends on what you’re doing but yes because with p2p you don’t go through a server to implement a mod and you can break the game with less consequences.
For example it’s way easier to mod Space Marine 2 than Marvel Rivals, even though you can mod Rivals, because the server is required for spotting cheaters and banning them in more serious or competitive settings. Hence why Rivals players can mod skins in with some effort, but are liable to be ip banned if they use an aimbot in comp.
