I actually believe this. I believe people are both more ignorant and petty than even you or I can imagine. I also think that people can be persuaded. Make people think that these ideas were something they came up.

But the point of this is literally don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. There’s a rather large subset of the population that hears “oh no animals products at all? Forget that.” And they commit to no animal product reduction at all. So then the question is harm no animals, or harm less animals?

Most Canadians will be better used on logistics and other tasks anyways. We don’t need Captain Canuck firing at the wrong fucking side accidentally.

I think that if this does go down, any American who does fight for Canada should get Canadian citizenship with all the benefits that entails (healthcare).

Person from Ontario who moved to Alberta 15 years ago here. Want to know the secret of why no one outside Alberta cares about Alberta? Because Alberta isn’t special, and the oil and gas patch isn’t special. Its a nice little windfall that will run out one day and the province has no plan B.

I’ve had to have this conversation with coworkers who complain about how no one in BC or out east care about Alberta and when I ask then if they care about automotive layoffs in Ontario, or loss of fisheries jobs on the east coast, or cost of living issues on the west coast, they outright say they don’t give a shit or they say “its different”. Its not different, Alberta isn’t the economic powerhouse of Canada that it thinks it is. Beyond that though, we have a really fucking stupid government that’s actively destroying what’s left of our education and healthcare systems, and the dumb fuck hicks outside Calgary and Edmonton do in fact eat it up hook line And sinker.
