My employer had to hire a lawyer to get their insurance company to cover us and stop denying claims. It’s beyond fucked up out there.

If the pharmaceutical executives are so confident that making these types decisions is necessary…Then why won’t they get on a podium in a public space on live TV and explain they’re reasoning to the very people it’s going to effect the most?
If it’s really that important there should be no issue with the public’s response.
New England has so many freaking deer because of the complete lack of natural predators. The native mountain lion species here went extinct a long time ago, and nothing has taken its place.
It’s literally just hunters and cars hitting them keeping the population in check.
Plus there’s that deer wasting disease that’s been spreading, and continued overpopulation is just gonna make it worse.
Keeping predators in an eco system is so fucking important.
Well, I guess the trash took itself out.
Whenever I see some educated individual trying to make some sort of ‘credible’ stance against trans rights I just see an overgrown child.
These are grown adults who are angry that the simplistic worldview that they were taught as children doesn’t hold up to reality.
It was challenged by the mere existence of people who are different than themselves and they don’t want to confront the possibility that they were wrong(the people they care about were also wrong), so they the blame trans people for evoking those emotions instead of doing some introspection.
Aside from the obvious egregious human rights violations here, there’s going to be a lot of health repercussions for this.
Not getting enough, or any sunlight can cause vitamin d deficiency which can cause a whole host of problems. Including if a woman breastfeeds without getting enough vitamin d her baby will also be deficient. Get ready for a bunch of children who are going to be at a high risk for developing rickets.
I guess that’s the price they’re willing to pay to oppress women?
My local library has weekly reading days, crochet club, adult focused book clubs, and regular events.
But the thing is that people in the community helped start those things. If your library doesn’t have any you should probably talk to them about starting something. I’m sure they’d be more than happy to be involved and increase the amount of people that visit!
Well, IVF is still legal for the time being.
And fun fact! Depending on the facility, if there’s any unused fertilized eggs left the woman/couple can decide to donate them to medical stem cell research facilities.
They literally weaponize ethical applications of the law by slowing their court proceedings to basically a standstill. Probably with bribes or other “technically legal” means.
Then they can live their life of luxury all the way up until they’re too fucking old to be held accountable for their crimes.
It never ceases to amaze me how much more disgusted I am capable of becoming. Wow.
We both know the ultra wealthy have a well recorded history of disregarding ethics and human rights when it comes to obtaining more wealth.
I don’t know why you decided you dislike my perspective so much, but I’m good. Have a nice day sir or madam.
It’s called an example of behavior.
Its a very common thing that happens in human conversation.
As someone who stopped drinking raw milk as soon as I became aware of the bird flu issue they have whatever happens to them coming. They’re incredibly goddamn stupid.
I just like non homogenized milk, it’s hard to find pasteurized. Nothing worth dying over ffs.
Did everyone forget about scumbag Martin Shkreli who raised medication prices for no reason other than he wanted more money?
“In September 2015, Shkreli was widely criticized when Turing obtained the manufacturing license for the antiparasitic drug Daraprim and raised its price to insurance companies from $13.50 to $750.00 (USD) per pill.”
Unconscious pronatalist bias.
People don’t talk about it much, but there’s an unconscious tendency to give more sympathy to parents. There’s a million reasons why this happens but I’m not gonna go there.
The media is pretty heavy handed with this manipulation because it usually works. Any article about a murdered woman mentions if she’s a mother, and if not it’s “she didn’t get to have kids yet.” It gets lots of clicks.
That CEO is so disgusting that they can’t even activate people’s unconscious biases and the media is panicking because they’ve lost control. It’s kinda impressive and funny tbh.
Side note - I’m not an antinatalist or anything, I’m just a philosophy/sociology nerd.
Holy shit!
I havent been on fb for a long time, I mean years, so I didn’t realize it had basically turned into the dumping grounds for the rest of the internet.
It reminds me of an article i read a long time ago about the police branches that have to deal with reviewing csam and the toll it takes on them.
I don’t typically have much sympathy for the police, but anyone who has to look at that stuff and basically get psychological damage in order to convict the people who create it have my respect.
Those moderators don’t deserve that shit. I hope they win their lawsuit.
Many of these polls are written in way to ellicit a biased response.
Others have already covered how this works, but I’ll add to it anyway.
If you ask a question like “do you condemn violence against healthcare CEOs?” A lot of people are going to say yes, because they view themselves as people against violence and respond mostly to that first part.
If you ask "did brian thompson deserve to die for his crimes? Many of the same people will say yes to that too, because people have an innate desire for justice.
Polls do this all the time. It’s part of social engineering and plays on the phenomenon that the Asch Conformity Experiments analyzed. Around 35% of people will change their opinions to fit everyone else’s even if the answer or opinion is very obviously incorrect.
Don’t let them take the narrative back.
Just in case someone out there doesn’t know, never use two condoms. That’s going to cause them to break.
Also, I’m not sure what terrible circumstances happened to you, but I get the feeling you wouldn’t appreciate sweeping statements being made about men like that.
I hope you find yourself in a place where you no longer feel that way.
I think this is a great thing to see happening. Men are taking birth control into their own hands. Why take the risk of an unwanted pregnancy? Sometimes other methods fail.
The peace of mind must be amazing too
Maybe if we start a rumor that’s there’s billions of exploitable people on Pluto all the rich CEO’s will race each other there, die like the ones in that shitty submarine and leave us the fuck alone.
Happy ending.
Unfortunately in way too many cases judges tend to side with the rapist because they’re relatable… See rapist Brock Allen Turner. That happens A LOT. that’s just the one that was publicized.
I personally know two people this happened to. The person who raped them got a slap on the wrist. One victim was a man, the other a woman. Ask around and I’m sure there are innumerable similar stories just like healthcare denials.
In case this helps you or anyone else, every state has a department of insurance who’s job it is to make sure insurance companies follow regulations and enforce consumer protections.
If yours is ever being and huge dick don’t hesitate to file a report. Depending on the state will depend on how effective this tactic is, but I’ve seen people have success with that route.
Best of luck to you!
