  • Well, I guess the trash took itself out.

Whenever I see some educated individual trying to make some sort of ‘credible’ stance against trans rights I just see an overgrown child.

These are grown adults who are angry that the simplistic worldview that they were taught as children doesn’t hold up to reality.

It was challenged by the mere existence of people who are different than themselves and they don’t want to confront the possibility that they were wrong(the people they care about were also wrong), so they the blame trans people for evoking those emotions instead of doing some introspection.

  • Aside from the obvious egregious human rights violations here, there’s going to be a lot of health repercussions for this.

Not getting enough, or any sunlight can cause vitamin d deficiency which can cause a whole host of problems. Including if a woman breastfeeds without getting enough vitamin d her baby will also be deficient. Get ready for a bunch of children who are going to be at a high risk for developing rickets.

I guess that’s the price they’re willing to pay to oppress women?

  • Unconscious pronatalist bias.

People don’t talk about it much, but there’s an unconscious tendency to give more sympathy to parents. There’s a million reasons why this happens but I’m not gonna go there.

The media is pretty heavy handed with this manipulation because it usually works. Any article about a murdered woman mentions if she’s a mother, and if not it’s “she didn’t get to have kids yet.” It gets lots of clicks.

That CEO is so disgusting that they can’t even activate people’s unconscious biases and the media is panicking because they’ve lost control. It’s kinda impressive and funny tbh.

Side note - I’m not an antinatalist or anything, I’m just a philosophy/sociology nerd.

  • Holy shit!

I havent been on fb for a long time, I mean years, so I didn’t realize it had basically turned into the dumping grounds for the rest of the internet.

It reminds me of an article i read a long time ago about the police branches that have to deal with reviewing csam and the toll it takes on them.

I don’t typically have much sympathy for the police, but anyone who has to look at that stuff and basically get psychological damage in order to convict the people who create it have my respect.

Those moderators don’t deserve that shit. I hope they win their lawsuit.

  • Many of these polls are written in way to ellicit a biased response.

Others have already covered how this works, but I’ll add to it anyway.

If you ask a question like “do you condemn violence against healthcare CEOs?” A lot of people are going to say yes, because they view themselves as people against violence and respond mostly to that first part.

If you ask "did brian thompson deserve to die for his crimes? Many of the same people will say yes to that too, because people have an innate desire for justice.

Polls do this all the time. It’s part of social engineering and plays on the phenomenon that the Asch Conformity Experiments analyzed. Around 35% of people will change their opinions to fit everyone else’s even if the answer or opinion is very obviously incorrect.

Don’t let them take the narrative back.
