If Canadian intelligence can ID vessels as NOT OF INTEREST, that would be great, no?

So Doug Ford is doing standup now?

For a province dependant on agriculture in an age of climate change, it is definitely worth exploring the energy sector. It seems likely that AI’s energy demand will continue to rise for decades. If Sask can fill some of that demand, there will be a benefit to the economy.
On the “cons” side, the $7B investment comes from public money; i.e. taxpayers. And if the predictions of future demand do not pan out, the 1.7 million inhabitants of the province will be on the hook for the payments.

We have never made our own jets. We’re not gonna start now. Buying American is waaay more cost effective, and that’s what Canadians want.

A disturbing story about exploiting teen vulnerability. Sadly the “experts” offer no practical tips for teens to combat the scammers’ techniques.

I thought my use of fake to characterize climate change might be misinterpreted, but I couldn’t see a way to succinctly indicate that I wasn’t really aiming for sarcasm, nor that I believe it’s real. I’m sorry that it wasn’t very clear that I was just saying those who support fossil fuel energy production often also believe that climate change is fake.
I really believe that fossil fuels are making the world a harder place for humans to inhabit and that we should refocus our energy acquisition systems onclean and renewable energy because the US recently rescinded or stopped all support of clean energy. I see an opportunity for Canada to provide energy to USA. I believe that without those additional energy sources, they will lack enough energy to power their economy to the place where they want to be i.e. in control of Crypto and AI. Having the exportable energy to meet those needs will give Canada important leverage to prevent international conflict over energy.
Even though, or perhaps because, I’m old enough to remember what things were like when I was a child and a young adult. When I compare the climate I experience now to how I remember it then, it is clear to me that climate is definitely changing and warming. So I’m not completely bug-fuck crazy. I think.

“/s?”
Not at all! The US has killed government support for non-fossil-fuel energy sources. At the same time they have ramped up support for energy-hungry crypto centers and ai processor farms. So they are going to need energy. Oil simply cannot supply it all. Enter Canada; after promoting investment in solar and wind generation, mega watts of electricity are available for export!

As the USA disadvantages renewable energy investment, and China reaches a technological tipping point with solar, Canada can become a leading supplier of “premium power” to voracious ai farms, and provide profitable heating and cooling energy to cities subject to (fake) climate changes. Its an opportunity!

Yes, it could “represent a stark manifestation of a deeply troubling and accelerating trend”. Or it could just be few right wing nuts who joined up to shoot bullets and blow stuff up.

Nope! Not going to be a captive market for murican car makers.

Mothers should get an income tax holiday AND $1000 per year for each child, for 10 years, until she no longer has any dependent children. A second parent should get 50% off income taxes so long as they parent in the same household, AND the mother is still legible for the tax relief. That ought to do it!

Any military is inherently an authoritarian organization, which means that it is far more right than left, and that it works constantly to preserve its traditions and hierarchy. It has to resist change that compromises the authority of orders. Otherwise it’s a gang. In order to succeed, military people must be trained to be obedient, and to believe their cause is just, and lawful. The CAF needs to guard against acts and attitudes that are outside of law, while maintaining the necessary ethos. The incidence of “far right” attitudes and activities is low in my opinion but has been dealt with harshly. It ain’t easy being green.

I’m way past making a living in tech, and so far (5 months) my MacBook is delivering a very satisfactory user experience. I’m not thrilled with the “radical” changes coming to MacOs, but I don’t have that much invested in the current version to fret over it. So far the biggest controversy about the new OS is how the finder icon swapped colours. I can live with that! I considered and tried some Linux distros over the past few years, but there was too much intervention required by me, the user. The “Total Recall” vibe of Windows 11 pushed me over the line.
And yet, most likely user behaviour hasn’t changed!

I began using Windows in 1992. I switched to MacOS this year and I’m never going back.

“Seventy-five cents of every dollar of capital spending for defence goes to the United States. That’s not smart,” - Carney Yes! Lets spread it out to those who might be willing and able to defend ournational security so we can continue to support each others’ cultures!
I hope Canada’s intelligence community will ID vessels that should NOT be targeted.
