So we’d be vaccinating those infections, not cancer itself
I see this often, but cancer isn’t caused by a viral infection. Are there vaccines that exist to prevent non-viral related diseases?
Commenter sounds like they would complain about Arial being black because her original character was white.
You really wanna defend that?
… Are there discs that can contain 123GB of data? Should they just start distributing tiny solid state drives you plug in to your pc and play from?
You’re right. We should absolutely, not once, not ever, have a person who doesn’t perfectly, down to the finest detail, match the description of the character they are depicting act for that role.
I saw a local stage play of madame web where a woman played a male character. It literally wasn’t even a distraction and they sold the character well.
Damn your haze is throwing.
Well, they’re known for some very strange manufacturing issues. We can’t put it past them.
Friend you’re on the wrong instance. .ml has a spot open for you, all you have to do is cry about “the libs” like a Trumper and you’re in.
The article doesn’t give much, and a lawyer claiming something is considerably damaged when defending a client is always hyperbolic. Did you look up more info?
Either way, 30 mill could set you and your descendants (should you be able to make any) for life. Life’s pretty damn short, so never having to work again at the cost of not being able to crank it anymore? I’d seriously consider it.
A quick search says that coffee is typically made at around 200°F (93°C), and water can cause 3rd degree burns within a couple of seconds of contact at 150°C (60°C), so it’s not unthinkable that a freshly made coffee would be dangerous.
A proper cup with a secure lid would make the difference.
… I’d take the 3 mill for a couple of skin grafts. 30 is just fantastic.
Sounds like you don’t have a thick furred dog that sheds multiple coats throughout the year.
We got a roomba as a gift and it has saved so much effort of sweeping/vacuuming the excess of fur on the floors.
Love my husky but damn…
Think of how many things around you are made of plastic. What about critical pieces of things like airplanes? What would you replace that with to prevent the bacteria from causing damage to them?
I could probably pick a few things on my desk right now that would be much more difficult and much more costly to produce with other materials.
First world problems: the article.
The egg thing is really strange to me. Are people eating a few eggs every single day? I usually buy an 18 count every few weeks at most.
I understand that eggs are used in a significant amount of products that aren’t just raw eggs, but the people complaining so loudly are probably not the businesses that use them.
One central server is created. Users finally have an easy time joining lemmy and most are content with staying right where they are. A large amount of content is now centralized to one place. Suddenly, financial interests take notice of a large amount of untapped potential. Caving in to the opportunity to live an easier life under the warm blanket of money, the central server owner sells the server to the highest bidder.
The new central server owner defederates from smaller instances, eventually cutting themselves off from all other lemmy servers. Enshittification begins.
I’m sure there’s reasons this couldn’t happen but I think the biggest strength of lemmy is having users just randomly pick and then figure it out later. I started out on .world but didn’t like their moderation and defederation practices, so I moved.
The president doesn’t create laws.
Seems a little extreme to claim that it’s unethical to work for a company because someone who uses their product did something unethical.
Guess we’ve extended “there is no ethical consumption under capitalism” to “there is no ethics under capitalism” entirely.
Seriously, all of those companies listed have various quality issues that seem to stem for poor policy and a ‘profit at all cost’ mentality.
Ever been to a hooters that didn’t have a parking lot that was falling apart, or tables and machines that look to have been needing repairs for years? The details might not matter to every consumer, but I know I’d rather visit the restaurant that at least tries to keep up appearances.
