I have no sympathy for GAFAM, but Mozilla sucks even more and you can’t convince me otherwise.

Here’s the story you haven’t heard.English44·3 days agoI didn’t leave reddit, because I consider useful the subs I use (mostly technical stuff). And yes, you’re right about the constant bashing on anything out of the herd mentality.
I’m not sold on passkeys, either. Too “opaques” to me.

People here are generally anti-anything. That’s what echo chambers are for.

Engywook@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•What does it mean to ‘accept’ or ‘reject’ all cookies, and which should I choose?English4·5 days agoI always wonder if accepting all + blocking 3rd party cookies through browser settings is a sensible choice. One is left with 1st party cookies and a few browser have mechanisms in place to avoid these to be read by non-originating websites…
Engywook@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Are We All Becoming More Hostile Online?English29·16 days agoI’m not going to discuss that again, I’ve already wasted too much time explaining why I despise them, nor I’m going to apologize for celebrating their demise, when it comes. If you disagree, just start donating to them.
Engywook@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Are We All Becoming More Hostile Online?English113·16 days agoWhat does “telling language” means, in this context? I’ve never heard that. Not a native speaker.
If you are implying that I’m defending “unpopular” stuff such as racism, sexism, or any kind of right-wing “free speech”, you’re plainly wrong. I’m talking about much less sensitive topics (technology, for instance). As an example, I’ve been attacked for saying that I profoundly dislike Mozilla and that I don’t care if the disappeared (they should, actually).
Give your imagination a rest.
Should we just accept that?
Accept it or not, you choice. Nobody cares.
Is frankly annoying to see how much shit FOSS (or OSS) developer have to eat for every little misstep or for not employing their unpaid time to solve other people’s issues (some of which are really laughable, btw).
Engywook@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Are We All Becoming More Hostile Online?English417·16 days agoNot my experience. Just try to post some slightly unpopular opinion and good luck with the virtue signaling, whatever the topic is, and which is mostly done for fake internet points, I bet.
Engywook@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Are We All Becoming More Hostile Online?English6·16 days agoYes. Next question, you SOB!
I’m gladly you’re one of the few non-brainwashed humans on the Earth. So special!
