Wouldn’t it be nice if people could just not be awful. I feel like that’s a really low bar, but we’re never going to get there.

CVS and Walgreens are not the only pharmacies that received the latest booster.
Stupidity is not the problem here.
Jesus christ, it’s already eight years old and nothing has been improved or learned.
I have redeemed a key to give away for anyone who wants it.
What are you on about? The first game was great.
Oh, I didn’t. Here in Seattle, we have signage at some of our road drainage locations that we shouldn’t dispose of things like motor oil down them because the drainage goes to a salmon stream…on busy roads. I wonder why there aren’t enough salmon! I doubt it’s because of people improperly disposing of motor oil.
Not our Southern Resident Orcas, of whom Tahlequah is a member. They pretty much only eat salmon, even though there are seals and sea lions aplenty. It’s part of why they are so endangered and probably why this baby died–malnutrition. Not enough salmon thanks to historical overfishing, putting dams on their spawning routes, general habitat destruction, etc.
He rented the truck.
He probably just set off some of the fireworks before he shot himself.
If they come to the US, they are most likely to settle in the NY/NJ area or Florida because these locations already have large (relatively speaking) Jewish populations and institutions.
And by using uBlock Origin.
These media outlets need to stop using Republican propaganda like “school choice”. Call it what it is: undermining public education.
You know, I think if public transit had a little sign saying something along the lines of “not all disabilities are visible” in the disabled seating area, that might actually help a little bit. Sure, everybody would ignore it, but maybe not until they’ve read it at least once.
Other people have already put it better, so I’m going to put it plainly.
suggesting political bias in the judge’s adverse rulings without a credible basis
Fuck. You. We know how disingenuous this is, and fuck you.
This is on average, not in every jurisdiction. Here in Seattle, for example, homicides are up. The average dropping is largely based on high-crime cities seeing improvements–not necessarily the country overall.
The report is based on crimes reported to police in 36 cities, though only 29 of them provided data on homicides committed in their jurisdictions.
Based on those 29 cities, the report says homicides dipped 13% in the first half of 2024 compared to the first six months of 2023 and was 2% lower than the same period in 2019, the year before the pandemic began.
Those declines, however, were largely driven by big drops in “high homicide” cities like St. Louis, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, said Ernesto Lopez, a CCJ senior research analyst and co-author of “Crime Trends in the U.S.: Mid-Year 2024 Update.”
Homicides in Baltimore, for example, were 40% lower in the first six months of the year compared to the first half of 2019, while homicides in St. Louis and Philadelphia were down 23% and 19%, respectively, Lopez said. But he said two-thirds of cities in the report’s sample are still experiencing elevated homicide rates, including Seattle, which had 50% more homicides in the first half of 2024 versus the same period in 2019.
I agree with everything except the people are fake part. They exist in fairly large numbers, but it depends on where you live, I guess. They sure as hell aren’t fake where I grew up (NJ).
Man, if you thought it was bad in the Seattle area (where I’ve lived for quite a while now), you don’t want to see the shitshows in places like New York or DC.
Driving in the metro DC area is worse than driving in Seattle proper. When I lived in Northern Virginia, if it was a weeknight, I just accepted that there was nothing I could do other than go home because the public transit was almost non-existent, there was nothing to walk to (and poor pedestrian infrastructure), and driving anywhere would take forever because of the traffic. And you would be frustrated the entire time because people there drive like entitled idiots. You don’t just turn on your hazards and stop in the middle of the road/highway! I don’t know why that one in particular is such a big thing in NoVa, but it is, and it drove me insane. That and people turning on their hazards and then parking in a fire lane. Just, wtf.
You went off on a tangent after your first sentence. Could you share what Biden did to help this?
I actually think Biden has been a really good president, for what it’s worth, but I haven’t seen anything reported about him making improvements in this area.
