  • I only played the OW beta, years ago, but even then I could see a bit of what people are upset about now. Characters are designed around one concept for their whole kit, and anytime people find a way to do MORE with them, Blizzard usually patches them to do LESS. Map design is… questionable at best, and confusing for people who are fresh to the game. The balance of things, even early on, was obviously going to be focused around a competitive ruleset, and that puts a severe damper on things from a casual fun standpoint.

Moving on to more recent events that I don’t have personal experience with, Blizzard has just repeatedly shit the bed. OW2 was promised with massive PVE expansions and massive balance changes/gameplay tweaks to make the game feel fresh and fun again. Instead, they released several generic coomerbait heroes that didn’t do anything unique, cut the PVE ENTIRELY, which players were super hyped for, “”“rebalanced”“” the game (they went from 6v6 to 5v5), and unloaded a ton of paid cosmetics and battlepass mechanics that nobody asked for or wanted. Then as the dust settled, they started releasing more heroes that broke the game further; Mauga was SO UNBALANCED on release that the only way to beat him… was another Mauga, leading to a near 100% pick rate in matches; I remember hearing Rammatra(I think that’s the name of the robo-centaur?) Was also super busted on release; finally, the seasonal balance changes were usually poorly received.

So it’s not impossible to see why so many people who’ve spent so much time and money on OW and OW2 are so heartbroken about it, yet so eager to jump ship.

  • But you see, that’s the thing; the NIMBYs cry and scream and bitch and moan about all these infrastructure projects, claiming they’ll ruin everything and lower property values or whatever, but when they’re completed, and property values shoot up because people actually want to live there now, they shut up and claim they were never against them in the first place.

Because NIMBYs are hypocrites, and were using public infrastructure the whole time. They’ll never move outside of the suburb or city they’re in now, because if they did they’d complain that there was no infrastructure there that they were used to.
