#3 is the key I think. Valve’s business model is figuring out what their customers want and then providing it to them. Amazon’s model is to capture enough market share so they can start the enshitification process.
Even moreso, I think they’re worried this will normalize violence against their class, so they want to make an example of him. One Luigi can be imprisoned or executed; a thousand Luigis is a bigger problem.
I’d be more surprised if there hadn’t been a shooting.
I have to admit, the graphic design skills are surprisingly good for a far-right group.
Jamie Zawinski for the win.
New season of Black Mirror looks lit af.
Near the end of the article it says that methane is one of the products from the microorganisms. Seems kind of counterproductive. Not only would burning methane release CO2, but methane itself is one of the worst greenhouse gases.
Not sure if you saw this Stack Overflow post yet.
The constant lying was the last straw for me. Every time I’ve dealt with a dealership, they’ve promised some deal or price that somehow disappeared off the table when the official paperwork came out. My wife and I walked out in the middle of the signing process once because there was so much bait-and-switch going on. Fuck these guys.
It sounds a bit nerdy, but dedicate some time just to learning a specific command once in a while. Start with something straightforward like ls
. Read through the man
pages and try out all the different options for it. After a while, you’ll master quite a few commands and will be able to string them together to perform more complex tasks. It’s definitely easier learning the system piece by piece like this. I used to learn by just jumping right in to a complex task, but I ended up with just a superficial understanding most of the time. Now days I try to be more deliberate about reading all the documentation and actually learning the tool/command/etc.
Also, Arch has the archinstall
script that greatly simplifies the install process if you need it. You’ll definitely learn more doing it manually though. I’ve been using Arch as my daily driver for a year now and I love it.
The last time I bought from a dealership was 12 years ago. The experience was so off-putting that I’ve exclusively gone to small used car dealers since then where the salespeople have been surprisingly more honest and less obnoxious. I felt like the dealership would’ve literally pickpocketed me if I had let my guard down.
If dealerships are pissed, I can almost guarantee that this will be good for the consumer.
The bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy.
The punctuation you can hear.
The payload has almost reached the final control point!
BTW stands for Beta Testing Workshop, which is the “bleeding edge” version of Arch that gets released early. You probably want the stable, long term support version that only gets released very infrequently, like every 3-4 days.
