They can be very exclusive. I’ve seen first hand many gay men absolutely hate on people in the trans community. In my experience if you don’t fit into one of their pre-assigned roles then you aren’t welcome. Also, those of us that don’t make our sexuality a primary part of our personality are often dismissed as ‘others’.

Why would you let an extremist dictate how you live your life? First, just do the right thing. Second, by labeling them an extremist you are acknowledging that they are not the normal, not the majority.

Most of the rural people (including many farmers) just want change. Sucks that they fell or are still falling for the bullshit. But many farmers aren’t Trump loving conservatives.

Support your local farmer. Have a conversation with them. Maybe you might actually understand each other and make a difference together. This is far better than giving the giant corporation your money and hoping they do the right thing with it. They won’t.

I don’t hate on people with different views. I live in a very conservative area. Most of the people I talk to on a day to day basis are still wearing their MAGA hats. I’m actually not a fan of the democratic party. But at the same time I’m not dumb enough to fall in line with the new fascist agenda. There’s a huge difference between taking steps forward and burning down the system for personal profit.

Trump is an idiot with a personal agenda. Elon is a Nazi. And the people who don’t see this are mostly poorly informed. I don’t hate them for that.

But looking at your comments, it appears YOU are the one hating on everything different. Or you’re just trolling, which would make you an idiot or a child, neither of which are worth having a discussion with.

I’m so confused.

I feel like one of us had an aneurysm.

It’s not. But it’s harder the longer you wait. We’ve stopped teaching children because skills like this don’t fit into check boxes that can be marked off. It’s far easier just to train them to memorize test answers. We don’t TEACH anymore (likely because we don’t pay people to). It’s hard work, and the students outnumber the instructors so it’s no surprise we’re struggling. Parents don’t continue the education at home and expect the system to do all the work because they are wasting all of their energy at work.

It’s going to take generations and decades to fix this and we won’t see the results in our lifetime. But we need to start doing things differently if we want things to be better for our descendants. We need to reform education AND create an environment where you don’t need both adults to work 40+ hours a week to support the family.

Our farming system needs an overhaul, but I agree that this isn’t the way to make that happen. But I am hoping this bullshit will force us to take a closer look at how we produce and approach it in a more sustainable fashion.

I don’t think college education is the source we should be looking at.

Critical thinking skills need to be taught a much much earlier phase.

A close friend of mine had to quit the force after a few years. Luckily for him the only thing he dealt with was the guilt of having to put kids in jail for weed. He still feels guilty about it.

Admittedly once I found out he was a cop for a few years I didn’t trust him. But after hearing his stories and understanding that he had to leave because he wasn’t one of them. He actually went to college and had plans to be a detective but had to give up that entire life plan because he just couldn’t handle all the corruption and abuse.

Sucks that you have to continue to suffer because the system was broken. Hope you understand that you (and my buddy) were also victims on some level.

All we can do is try to make things better for the next generations. At least now people are listening. If it weren’t for everyone having access to recording devices, we’d never be able to even hope for change.

It happened to me decades ago. My PARENTS didn’t care.

Guilty or not, always plead not guilty at the start. You’ll often have a chance to accept a better plea deal before trial if you want. Or you can go to trial.

Unless you are looking forward to serving time (free food, warm bed, access to healthcare).

I don’t see any reason to limit it to healthcare executives.

We probably could ramp up some production here to survive this. But for it to actually work the way it’s proposed the general population will need to give up certain luxuries that are only available via import. And I can’t see that ever happening. The average American isn’t going to sacrifice anything for the greater good.
