Blow up energy pipelines, have them sanction russia. Just do everything to cut them off the only other nation that can compete with yankeeland in the energy business for europes demand. As a result we are more isolated and dependent on yankeeland oil.

I guess the US didn’t say anything after they knew, but it seems like the Europeans probably knew too and didn’t want to investigate it further because they wanted to keep their relationship with Ukraine. In general it seems Europe are more rhetorically hostile to Russia and don’t really need the US to tell them to sanction them.
Also Russia is not the only one that can supply Europe besides america, oil exports are still dominated by the Saudis and the Gulf states. Even Canada exports about as much oil as america.
